I think we have much bigger needs than G to go after. Depending on the size of the contract I don\'t think I\'ll be too upset if we sign him. The middle of the line got better late in the season but early on it was awful. Some stability and veteran leadership couldn\'t hurt.
btw, scout.com has him as the 5th ranked G available. http://scout.scout.com/a.z?s=196&p=9...&lnid=83&pid=6 |

with the dismal attempts at screens last year they may be thinking he won\'t have any need to worry about doing that. age 32 and sign for 3-4 years not prudent? c\'mon, he was all-pro once three years ago. also he has a frozen treats shop called \"J Berries\" in his offseason home of Austin, TX. The shop serves water ice, gelatis and smoothies. Mayberry also sponsors scholarships to local high school students through the shop.

whodi, you\'re certain he\'s not better than Jacox? That\'s the real question.
Obviously, we wouldn\'t replace every position with the 5th ranked player available and expect to get better. That\'s almost too absurd a statement to be worth a retort. Even though G isn\'t a \"need\", if it can be improved there\'s nothing wrong with looking there. |

We don\'t need a guard and Jacox almost made it to the Probowl 2 years ago when Fotenot was still here. He had one off year. We need to put out money for a tackle, not a guard. Wahle is about to be off the market and others are getting signed fast. Typical Saints offseason if you ask me. Go sign an average free agent and hype him up as the steal of the offseason.
It\'s also very easy to develop guards compared to tackles. We can draft anyone btw round 5-7 and they could be starters. Look at all these top notch guards in the league, lots of them are lower round picks. We still have Stinchcomb on the bench also. [Edited on 3/3/2005 by papz] |

they backed off on fred miller cuz he wanted too much money (i wasn\'t disappointed). he was ranked #21 on pasquerelli\'s top 32 ufa list. mayberry (not on the list) might be closer to the loomis budget plan. if i was betting i would say he\'ll be too spendy for them too.

In the Q&A chat, the name Stockar McDougle (Lions) was heard as a possible RT. I guess only time will tell. |
