this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; The more I think about the possibility of him coming here the larger the grin. He can't be banged up already, he is still relatively young and if this Oline turns out to be the Power Grunts we've been hoping ...

The more I think about the possibility of him coming here the larger the grin. He can't be banged up already, he is still relatively young and if this Oline turns out to be the Power Grunts we've been hoping for then Duece and Dayne become the Double DDs. Oh I forgot Dunn and Duckett. Has Dayne arrived yet?

I am ok with dayne coming but lets not build so much hype about this... he really hasn\'t done much, name one season where he got close to a thousand yards? Besides countering a smaller back RB we have, or using him like a bowling ball fullback, don\'t see him bringing much else to the table.

Exactly, you nailed it, the bowling ball. I know we have Liesle but looks like he\'s not working out.

What\'s wrong with Karney? When he was on the field, he was a beast. And he can catch the ball.
Dayne isn\'t trained as a FB. Don\'t get me wrong, I think he\'s a fine addition as a back up RB, but I don\'t see that he has much value as a lead blocker. One of the knocks on Dayne is he doesn\'t use his physical size and agility particularly well on the field - that doesn\'t sound like a guy suite for FB. |

I did hear he looked much improved in pre-season last year but I think there are better options for a #3 RB. I hear Antowain Smith is in for a visit. I have always liked this guy both on and off the field. If he has any gas left in his tank he\'d be a very good #3. At least as good or better than Ki-Jana Carter. |

Exactly, \"When he was on the field.\" If he was a beast then he should\'ve stayed on the field. I don\'t get it, I\'m sure you\'re not the only fan that thinks Karney is a beast. I don\'t think the coaches feel that way and I don\'t know why.
I can see where he (Dayne) might consider himself a scat-back \"ahnoha.\" I\'m hoping a change of scenery and and a good Oline could be what the doctor ordered. |

Actually I thnk he had one good year where he gained 800/900 yards but he didn\'t get the majority of the carries either -- other than that he has been a bust - I think if we got him he and sandwich sully would have eating contests

start your quote with \"quote\" where the \"\" marks are [ ] instead and end it with \"/quote\" again where the \"\" marks are [ ].
Karney was on the field all year when McCarthy allowed it. Remember, McCarthy wanted the to TE set rather than a FB when they let T. Smith go. Karney proved he was much better than an ordinary rookie and was better than Smith at catching balls out of the backfield. He did so good I changed my avatar to honor his play. I\'m surprised anyone would think he wasn\'t one of the better offense players last year. [Edited on 8/3/2005 by ScottyRo] |
