it was bad news with keenon but we been thru this before some kind of way the ship will tilt the right way again, 30 yrs old and still not up to par that will bother him where ever he lands, if anyone on this earth knows the older you get the harder it is to come back. the hip man its tough as any to get past that. lewis knows hes has to be 100% to make a squad. but them big numbers he used to get are done,

Saints have a history as soon as a player starts showing he has the injury bug they release them. As if to say the game as pasted you or this isn't your game any longer. Time to retire or go home and enjoy...

Letting Lewis go is not really a surprise to me. He has been trending down, this will not be another Jenkins mistake.

Respectfully, that's not always the case; assuming you're speaking of the Sean Payton tenure...

Saints stuck it out with Colston, Vilma, Stinchcomb, Evans, Jenkins, Lewis (been going on for two + seasons), and not that they've had any choice but Byrd...

My guess is he was a whiner and Payton didn't like him whining to the public via twitter. Whining to the public is a no no to Payton. I'm surprised Loomis and the front office caved in when he first started whining about his contract.

Anyway the young guys will get valuable reps in the preseason. They are the future. And they need every rep that they can get.

Free agent CB Keenan Lewis will visit the Steelers on Tuesday night.
Lewis was linked to the Steelers by the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette's Gerry Dulac on Monday. Lewis was actually a third-round pick of the Steelers in 2009 before leaving for the Saints in 2013. Cut but New Orleans at least partly due to health concerns, this visit will likely be to check on the status of Lewis' balky hip. ESPN's Josina Anderson reports the Lions, Jets, and Cardinals are also interested. Aug 23 - 10:19 AM

Why do people think Keenan Lewis was going to come back into is pro bowl form... I for one don't think he was not with all his recent injuries.... Out with the old in with the young...

I don't like to be over critical of folks but concerning the author of this article - dude - stick to evaluating whether or not your grass is long enough to cut.

The awful thing about the Jenkins one, is he only admitted that he worked on improving himself after we released him.

So if we had kept him around, he wouldn't have had that "kick into gear" and we'd be saying the same old things about him anyway.
