Re: Trade Mark Ingram!?!
As much joy as it would give me to have a player of his caliber in our backfield, we would have to absolutely tank to get him. He won't necessarily be the top pick, even though he's the best player, but I can't imagine him slipping past 3 or 4. We'd have to give up too much to trade up, and that isn't worth it for the overall good of this team, in my opinion.
Of course, if the Saints never get healthy, they could easily be in the top 5. If they get healthy, I don't see worse than a 7-9. |
If I had a nickel for every time I heard that, the NFL would fine and suspend me.

Re: Trade Mark Ingram!?!
Out with Bama in with LSU? Not very likely...
One, it'd alienate our Gulf Coast fans in Alabama... ![]() Two, we all know Payton hates LSU players... ![]() Three, we need a top tier defensive end more than anything... ![]() |

Re: Trade Mark Ingram!?!
The way Ingram is playing we could trade him and lean on Hightower and Lasco the rest of the way in my opinion.
I've been one of his biggest supporters for years, but when a guy who's been out of football for 4 years (hightower) is ripping off 12-15 yard runs on his first few carries and ingram is tripping over for 2 yards a pop it might be time to look elsewhere. |

Re: Trade Mark Ingram!?!
In all fairness, Hightower was much more effective in the KC game and ingram hasn't had very good rushing totals for a while.
Hightower vs KC - 5 carries, 39 yards, 7.8 average Ingram last 3 games; 18 for 56 yards, 16 for 51 yards and 16 for 62 yards. Ingram is getting plenty of carries, but when he is running into the lineman, tripping over or just not picking a gap he is barely gaining 3 yards a carry, whereas Hightower was ripping off runs of 7-8 yards each time. |

Re: Trade Mark Ingram!?!
Fan hate? Really? Nothing else?
I know it has always pained you to hear criticism of your bama players, but this is Saints football we're talking about, and it wouldn't matter to me if he were from LSU. Ingram is not the first player to come under fire for underwhelming play. If he goes to another team and runs into the back of his linemen, those fans will criticize him just as loudly and probably more. |
