If SP is not part of the solution, he has to be part of the problem. Three 7-9 seasons is unacceptable. At some point you have to say enough is enough. I'm not in favor of Doug Marrone taking over either.

In defense of SP they haven't had much money to work with. They sold their soul for another run at the playoffs and got burned. I want to see what he can do now that they have money.

I agree. But having money has to somehow turn into some defense.
We most always have enough points to win.
Who can that money bring, coach and/or player that can match our offensive production on defense?
If we learn to get off the field on 3rd and long, that's 4 more wins right there.
8 more sacks over 16 games will change a lot of out comes.
An actual cover corner to take away 1 side of the field would be HUGE.
All we need to do is get our offense some help.
We don't have to win 16 games...look at the records...we only need about 12.

we let up 16 against the giants, 16 to the bucs, 23 to the panthers, 25 to the broncos, 27 (20 by our d) to the chiefs.

in the chiefs game we had an int returned for td, meaning the d let up 20.

in the panthers game we fumbled at our own 34 and threw and interception leaving them at our 34. the panthers longest drive that night was 51 yards.10 points came from turnovers by our offense that left them starting at our 34 yard line both times

in the broncos game we threw an interception that let them start at our 39, and then fumbled and that let them start at our 27. Then we fubled at our own 20. still we only let up 23 points by our d except our extra point was blocked and ST let up 2 points

There are 5 games right there that we should have won but our offense let us down.

I will admit..there is a WHOLE lotta chatter this time. This may actually happen after all. I say, if Payton interviews with the Rams, its over, this is no longer a drill.

Don't forget daughter goes to school in LA. I'm on the fence with this. On one hand I think we are really close to doing something, on the other, if Payton goes, he takes all his buddies with him. Hmmmm
