Captain Obvious' List of Top Roster Needs After First Day of Free Agency:
1) Defensive End - Need a starter and at least one rotational end. 2) Offensive Line - Need Depth, Peat is invaluable as he can move out; Senio can back up interior line and Jack Allen is a marginal reserve center only. 3). Running Back - Ingram and Lasco, that's really it. 4). Tight End - Are we really going to trust Fleener as our starting TE, again? 5). Wide Receiver - Cooks hasn't left the building, yet; but it could get thin real fast. |

You still giving up on Kikaha at DE, JP, even on a rotational basis? I still think he has the talent to have more of an impact than being slotted as a backup Sam.

You're definitely right that he can be a rush backer on 3rd downs, but defense will know what's coming if that's all he does... Can see him rotating with Anthony, which will give him different looks to opposing offenses, thereby giving opponents pause as to what he'll do pre-snap... Just don't believe he has the base, legs in a 4-3 to set the edge as a DE... And honestly, I think he'll be limited this season coming back from his third knee operation... |

I think Kikiha will play DE and DE only. He's an EDGE through and through. He wouldn't make a good LB. He's slow and he isn't good in coverage. When he was coming out of the draft all the analysts said he was most comfortable with his hand in the ground, though his best fit would be as a 3-4 EDGE. If he can't contribute as a DE on this roster then I think it's best we cut him now and find somebody who can.
