this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; You still giving up on Kikaha at DE, JP, even on a rotational basis? I still think he has the talent to have more of an impact than being slotted as a backup Sam....

You're definitely right that he can be a rush backer on 3rd downs, but defense will know what's coming if that's all he does... Can see him rotating with Anthony, which will give him different looks to opposing offenses, thereby giving opponents pause as to what he'll do pre-snap... Just don't believe he has the base, legs in a 4-3 to set the edge as a DE... And honestly, I think he'll be limited this season coming back from his third knee operation... |

If they could nab Butler for a 3rd(anymore is too much imo as he is a FA next year, they are not paying him). Th front office would be going into the draft in a really good place. Still holes but not having to reach

Got to be worried about this; Patriots went out and got Gilmore, a guy they see twice a year, and left a guy who literally won them a Superbowl his rookie year and was their shutdown CB on this last Superbowl run... Plus, why are the Saints suddenly enamored with him? Thought they wanted a taller CB for matchups? He's just barely 5' 10"! And if we're gonna commit that much coin, why not go after Gilmore and make cap room to accommodate the signing? |
