SAINTS DEPTH CHART - 2017 Free Agency

DEFENSE

DE (2) 94 - Cameron Jordan, 77 - D.J. Pettway, 76 - Mitchell Loewen

DT (2) 98 - Sheldon Rankins , 93 - David Onyemata

NT (2) 95 - Tyeler Davison, 96 - Ashaad Mabry, 92 - Justin Zimmer

DE (2) 44 - Hau'oli Kikaha, 58 - Obum Gwacham

And as I mentioned on another thread, I don't see Kikaha playing DE as he's undersized...

It all depends on DA an his attacking defense scheme. To make it all click on that side of the line you need a solid all around SLB backing the DE up.

a linebacker based on his closing speed, power through contact and athleticism
T.J. Watt OLB Wisconsin 6’5” 245 lbs
Might be a better DE than OLB

Ryan Anderson OLB Alabama 6021 253 4.67 #22 rJr
Tyus Bowser, OLB, Houston 6021 240 4.67 #81 Sr

Jimmy Gilbert OLB Colorado 6036 225 4.74 #98 Sr
He is one of my favs late in the draft. lead the nation in sacks before injury and he is Raw

Langi Harvey ILB/SLB/FB BYU 6015 252 4.77 #21 rSr
Does not get the respect he deserves. another solid raw prospect

I like Watt, really like him alot; but we've got holes on that defensive line that have got to be addressed first; and before that, at right guard...

Free agency is gonna be real interesting...Trades? Probably coming...

Who do you see as potential trade bait candidates in the Big Easy?

I stick by my post on previous thread and again refer to the only guys with value are...

OT Armstead/Peat - we've got two legitimate left tackles, somethings gotta give and Peat still has a couple of years on his rookie contract and Armstead has an attractive contract for a LT...

WR Cooks...would hate to see this as I love the complement of our WR corps, plus the fact we've got a first and third invested; it would be a real big mistake. But there's a little doubt in the back of my mind after that public airing of grievance re:touches...

LB Kikaha/Anthony...Anthony is a terrific athlete and really believe he can be a great Mike with Coach Nolan coming on board; just don't see Kikaha being a fit for what D.A. is trying to do as Hau'oli is a liability in coverage and too small to hold the edge at DE...

Re: 2017 New Orleans Saints: Roster Outlook

Cooks fifth-year option on Cooks for 2018 at about $8 million? better get him under contract instead. The saints better draft players to free him up more also.

Anthony is still my gut trade bait

Cook is possible but I am not buying into it

Armstead due to injuries year after year is one to knock around but Peat I am not sold on at LT but the saints always do silly things with the OL year in and year out.

Kikaha would fetch a bag of non magic beans IMO injuries yet again.

Cooks will likely earn 10 mil per year (believe that's what Colston was getting paid)...

Only way I'd trade Anthony, we get Foster in first round, then you move him to an AFC team...

Peat not a LT? Many of those games he played with only one game of practice at LT...

Kikaha's value is down; he should have been traded last year when we knew he wasn't an obvious fit...

Yeah, well that's one less thing to distract us from getting the O-line and D-line finished...
