But wait, isn't offense the problem?

OK, that was a low blow. Sorry.

BTW: I think the defensive firings have Dennis Allen's fingerprints all over it.

I think the front office has decreed that Dennis Allen has become "the man".

As far as the Special Teams firings, everyone predicted that.

Go back to what's been asked for three+ years...

Can anyone name one linebacker the Saints have developed under Joe Vitt's tenure?

So who do we hire as Defensive coaches?

I'm pretty sure they have a list. We just aren't CC'd on it.

I don't know how excited I am about Dennis Allen being "the guy," especially after Atlanta hung 35 first quarter points on us and there wasn't a Saints defender in sight on a bunch of their TD's.

In my opinion, I think Coach Payton has high trust and respect in Dennis and will most likely allow him to run the defense entirely without butting in.

I'll be very interested to see who the replacements will be. Circle back to my earlier post ... I like Pepper Johnson on my short list of LB coaching candidates. Also wonder if Brian Young is promoted?

Payton held those clowns in high regard for years also. Might as well get them all.

Hint:

Offense - #1 in the NFL
Defense - Near last in the NFL
Special teams - Last in the NFL

Still wanna blame the offense for 7-9?

I'd love to debate this. Its like taking candy from a baby.

In the Denver game though our D recorded 6 sacks and 2 interceptions, whilst our offense committed 4 turnovers and the Broncos average starting field position was our 45 yard line.

Just like the Chiefs game, Brees throws pick 6, still had chance to tie the game up and Ingram fumbles on our last drive.

Rankings can be misleading, especially when you look at those two games and how both sides of the ball couldnt compliment each other.

So basically your saying in 2 or 3 games our offense didn't score a bunch of points.

Wow, that incredible. I bet that never happens to the Pats. Oh wait, yes it does.

No one said the Offense was perfect all year, but to imply the offense was the problem in 2016 is just plain dumb.

Uh Hint: The number one offense put up 13 points against the Giants and a Whopping 11 points against the Bucs. Those losses are clearly on the offense for not scoring enough

Against the Chief Drew threw and Int for a Td, Mark had two fumbles and one of those were within the Chiefs 20 yard line if memory serves. Clearly the loss was on the offense for 3 turnovers, one that led to 7 points without the D ever stepping on the field.

Aginst the Broncos Drew threw and Int and Thomas had two fumbles. The Broncos started inside our 40 once and inside our 30 twice. That led to 13 points. That is the offenses fault. The D even got like 2 or 3 turnovers against the broncos, what hell you want from them?

Against the Panthers the Offense only scored 20 points and Brees fumbled leaving the Panthers on our 32 and led to a FG. Then Drew threw an INT and let the Panthers start on our 34. That led to a TD. Too many turnovers by the offense again. I think the longest Panther's drive all night was 51 yards.

That is called analysis, that is called embarrassing you. Those are facts not a bunch of hyperbole and dimwitted comical comments meant to make it look like your scoring points.

Everyone recognizes the success the offense has had, and no one is pretending that our 25th ranked defense was better than the offense, but there were games the offense did not show up or that they flat out cost us. ST may have contributed as well, but these 5 games are solely on the offense for either too many turnovers or not enough points. Even when you couple it with ST, there was no reason for us to lose without the turnovers or lack of points.

Yea -2 in t/o and still had the Denver game won. Blocked XP turned into 2 pts. equals loss. Offense made mistakes, still did enough to win against a defense rated one of the best in league.

No, what he said was our offense turned the ball over too many times in those games and did it on our side of the ball.

The offense turned the ball over inside our 30 yard line twice and inside our 40 once. That is horrible and completely their fault.

Again, you're stating the offense struggled in a few games. Wow, that's some primo analysis on your part.

If you think the offense is the problem, I just don't know what to tell you. All the analysis available points to the defense being much worse than the offense.

Our offense struggled in 3 to 4 games.
Our defense struggled in 10 to 12 games.

Before you get up on your high horse, read my post again, at no point did I say that the Offense alone was the problem in 2016. Do I believe they are to blame for some losses? Yes, of course. But the D are to blame for more.

Also I never said the offense didn't score a bunch of points, I said they committed 4 turnovers and put the D in bad spots in the Denver game and turned the ball over at critical times in the Chiefs game.

Points can be scored in garbabe time, as evidenced by the 19 we put up in the 4th quarter vs falcons which I already stated in another point was entirely the defenses fault.

Because they were forcing the ball because of the depleted defense. Can't you see the obvious?

Didn't address one fact made about those 5 games, exactly. That's called passively accepting defeat.

Now you're changing the topic. So let me get you back on topic.

The point I made was simply this, it did not extend further:

The Offense was responsible for 5 of our losses.

Sir, 2 of those turnoves were fumbles...no forcing, coughing it up. Both by Mike inside our 30 yard line. The other was a pass that went off the receivers hands. No forcing..off the receivers hands.

**** I just discovered we had 4 turnovers in the broncos game!!! LOL!

One of them was after we had already drove 51 yards and the score was only 7-0. Why would you be forcing the ball when you're driving to tie. Then our defense forced a punt and with the score still 7-0 here comes the second int on the very first play.

The fumbles were when we were down 17-10, and then when we were down 20-17. I see nothing showing any need for forcing.

But by all means, keep going

Yeah, no one is acting like the offense was more of a problem or that the 25th ranked d wasn't an issue. Of course, but those 5 losses weren't on the d, plain and simple.

The Offense was responsible for 5 of our losses.

Again no, our offense didn't play well in 5 of our losses. They were not to blame.

Did you not see the blocked FG that cost us the Giants game?

Did you not see the blocked PAT that cost us the Bronco's game?

Those were both on the ST's.

I'm a bit surprised you blame those on the offense.

The blocked PAT would have never happened or wouldn't have mattered if the Offense didn't keep the game close by turning the ball over 4 times. 3 of those in our own half.

It's just like 2011 playoffs all over again, the offense turns the ball over 5 times versus the 49ers but somehow people still blame the D because they couldnt hold.

You keep going on and on and on and on and on and on and on about something that is meaningless considering the defense was decimated and the special teams were poor.

First I am glad to see you're slowly stopping your argument and now challenging me on two games verse all of them. Either way you're still wrong. You're not wrong in your premise that the offense has less blame than the defense for the entire season, that you're right about, but you're completely wrong that these 5 losses are not on the offense.

They scored 13 points against the Giants, that is their fault. Yes ST contributed, but that is their fault. All they needed to do was score 17 points bro, for Christ sakes their the number one offense in the league, wtf they cant get more than 13 frigan points, really?

The offense had 4 turnovers against the Broncos. One of those turnovers was when we were driving for points. The other three were 1 inside our 40 and 2 inside our 20. That led to 13 points. The blocked XP becomes irrelevant if not for the offensive mistakes

Oh, I see you're another one I have to make understand what my original point was.

Let me help. The original point I made was that those 5 losses were on the offense. There was nothing more to it than that. It didn't go any further.
