There's a difference, an improvement and to not concede that point is just being stubborn...

I was talking about overall ranking JP. There were some improvements but not enough. I'm not being stubborn. We were still ranked near the bottom just like prior years and until we don't we're bottom feeders plain and simple. There was a post a good while back when some people was tooting Allens horn( they know who they are) and I said Allen wouldn't cut it with a 25th ranked D well he didn't even get that. I don't have one ounce of faith in the guy. I'm still trying to figure out what he has ever done to even warrant the hype he gets. Payton has loaded the guy up( draft picks and FA) and I think he's not much better than RR. At least(if rankings are what look good to some not saying you) but RR ranked us 5th his first season. I didn't see the 5th rankings looking at games but those were the stats. Our front 7 have been decently health all season. Allen is 3rd in blitzing, kind of like Williams was and that don't turn out all that well when you don't get there as you know. What I have noticed about his 2nd half adjustments he tighten the box up ( sells out to stop the run) making teams beat us with their pass, looks good in stats but better qb eat us up in the passing game. I will say this if he loses Ellerbe he's screwed.

Strength & Conditioning Coach Dan Dalrymple is not on the list.

... so, has an offer been made to Wade Phillips yet?

To change DCs again just looks clueless and sends a bad message about stability and continuity after so many down years.

Not sure, we're in uncharted territory here...

Payton has been hiring coaching replacements alongside the lame ducks the past three seasons with the designation "Senior (Enter Specialty) Assistant"...

Why?!? Allen, within his own scheme, did a good complementary job; we just trashed the 3-4 for the 4-3...

As if rebuilding the defensive scheme every 2.5 seasons wasn't bad enough, are we now going to go year to year, back and forth, with the defense?

We could hire Farmer Fran as new ST coordinator...he runs roughly the same kind of practices McMahon did.

You know, seriously, not that you'd want to overload a secondary coach, especially the great job ours is doing...

But at the levels of football I participated, the secondary coach also ran with special teams assignments and coverage...

I noticed and asked one of my Head Coaches why this was and his response was "who better than (the secondary coach)? (He's) got a better understanding of spacing and zone assignments than anyone..."

Still seems legit...

It took several games for me to be sold on DA. You could see how his players started to gel - especially against the run - as the season went on. All we need are a couple of good players on the line and at LB, and I think DA will have this team clicking after training camp.

But, it's really not just Dennis. It's pretty obvious, at least to me, that a whole bunch of that success is due to the position coaches. All we need are some really good coaches to get this team clicking.

And yeah, some more talent couldn't hurt either as long as we get some folk who know what to do with them.

the second i heard this on the media outlet who do i think of, yes the black and gold solid as they come fans of BAG. we played ,we laughed, we joked and cried together about shipping vitt and company for so long, yes yes yes i cant believe it. but not happy about anyone losing a job, but if these guys didn;t save for a rainy day shame shame. theres a reason they ,if ever they got interviews with other teams to leave the warm compty wings of payton, they knew better was to stay put. not saying alot for there moxy or confidence but i'm calling them out why they never advanced past the superbowl year. i do believe johnson may have jumped ship for a year or 2, but comes right home in the dome. where there was job security.

to me payton should be coming into his prime if hes one of the best of the best, hes been in a tailspin since vitt took his job over when he was suspended. is this the banging of the gong him saying this is enough of the shortfalls and tailspin losses with lbs out of place say like atlanta game with long td run. was that the gong that sent him into a whole new brainset and put these mind boggling mistakes that he could not take another snap with that defensive coaches group. i'll tell you what i yelled out ,( who the hell coaches this up). finally i'm at peace with payton taking a stand and SH%TCANNING THAT GROUP.

This was done because he had no choice, management is not happy with the results. Get better is what they just told him.

Who's over Sean?

I can't seem to download the sound byte however Vilma was recently asked this (WWL) question as it relates to coaching for the Saints and he vehemently stated no.

He seems to be extremely happy with his TV gig w/Florio (PFT) & has no interest in coaching at this point in his life.

Coaching is brutal. It is a family killer. It definitely takes a special breed.
