Re: Coach Replacements
Was just talking to an ole friend of mine when I lived in the city for about ten years...
His Dad played for the Saints and he's still close to the organization; he made a great point about coaching hires... I asked him that with some of the teams that let go head coaches, six in all this year, could that competition for coaches be hanging things up for the Saints? He agreed that was a part of it - do you want to be a positional coach when you're more than qualified to be a coordinator? and looking to get another HC job? And for Saints coaching candidates, they also have to consider if going to a team that's gone 7-9 in four of its last five seasons won't be a one and done deal... He agreed with me that Tom Benson will never fire Loomis nor Payton. But that Payton will leave the Saints for a better situation (i.e. QB, Market)... |
It's not that my way is the right way, I just make the right way my way...

Re: Coach Replacements
When you finish every season with an elite offense, other teams are gonna poach your coaches.
My guess is that we'll still finish with an elite offense in 2017 without Morton. Acquiring Dan Campbell last year was freaking huge'er than losing Morton. We'll survive. |

I'd prefer we'd hired a 3-4 defense seeing how we had acquired several 3-4 personnel to that point, but I sure wouldn't want to swing things the other way... Again... For like the fourth DC in six years? That would be asinine on Payton's part... |

I just don't know if he fits Allens style of play. I did think he played well when Robertson was out and then the mysterious IR bug hit, I call BS on that.
