You make a valid point about high eval scores...

But how did Anthony go from an outstanding rookie to an afterthought his second season?

In my honest opinion and in just a word, Coaching.

Now, this Saints defensive staff, before one game played, I'll say is the best Payton has assembled in his tenure...

And I tell you my B&G brother and sisters, even if you just watch his youtube highlight film, his instincts and moves on the ball, especially in the red zone defense, his instincts remind me of a lot of a young Sammy Knight.

This guy just happens to be 6' 3" and a tremendous leaper...

Aaron Glenn and Dennis Allen get this kid to meet them halfway, Jairus Byrd will be an afterthought...

Re: Fanspeak 2017 NFL Draft Simulator

Just ran a new mock...

Round 1, Pick 11: Derek Barnett - DE
- With his production in college, and readiness for the NFL, should give us a solid, young DL able to put pressure ad get sacks for many seasons

R1, P32: Tre'Davious White - CB
- Overall top ranked CB in 2016 by PFF. Can play inside or outside, and can also return kicks. Good production

R2, P10: Joe Mixon - RB
- Controversial pick with his history, but the fact he came in for a private visit, when we have a history of avoiding such players, indicates he's a prospect that we may not want to overlook. Productive as a runner and receiver, and arguably to three in the nation

R 3, P12: Cooper Kupp - WR
- Some more young blood for our young WR corps. May be the best route runner in the country, but from a smaller school. Shined at the Senior Bowl. Rarely drops a pass, with good height at 6'2.

R3, P39: Teez Tabor - CB
- PFF has him ranked as the 3rd best CB, and has allowed a passer rating of 41.2 over the last three seasons. For reference, the passer rating for throwing the ball into the dirt every play is 39.6... again, that rating for the last three seasons. #TaborIsland

R6, P12: Lorenzo Jerome - S
- small school safety with ballhawking skills. Put this on display at the Senior Bowl where he had two interceptions and a forced fumble in the game

R7, P11:Eric Saubert - TE
- discussed Saubert before. Had a great East-West Shrine week. Had some drops in his career but also made great plays. High reward TE for the 7th round

Certainly understandable.

Just from reading a few tweets on Obi, he has closing speed and middle of the field awareness are very good. Mike Mayock's recent analysis (feet/hip movement) of him seems to be more gear towards playing corner back in the NFL. He could end up as the next Taylor Mays or Kam Chancellor.

LMAO...One Day when He gets back south, Hagan and I will meet up and raid the finer liquor establishments of the city and start riots all over the city re: Saints and Draft Picks...

Now, there are only three quarterbacks I take in this draft...

First Round - Mitchell Trubiskey, North Carolina

If we stay at No. 11, and Jamal Adams, Reuben Foster, Malik Hooker, Marshon Lattimore, Jon Allen, and of course, Myles Garrett are off the board, I take Trubiskey; he'll be a great QB and if Drew looks like he'll play three more, we can always trade him to the Brown's et al for a King's ransom...

Third Round - Nathan Peterman, Pittsburgh

I think the Saints should definitely nab this kid if we've taken our DE, DB by the third round; really like this kid's moxie (impressive, poised takedown of Clemson); and he's got good arm strength; if Payton and he click, future will be secure...

Fifth Round - Chad Kelley, Ole Miss

Big Ole Miss fan, and this kid is as tough as nails with impressive defeats in the SEC including the Big Elephant; but his head is as tough as nails as well and I don't see Holmgren, Mariucci nor Gruden type that can handle this Favre-esque personality; but the physical tools are there...

Many of the other kids that are highly rated have some serious flaws in their games and played at Big Schools (e.g. Notre Dame, Clemson) where they had outstanding receivers that bailed them out time and again...

These three were quite impressive; if I had my choice, and I don't like my options at No. 11, I try to add a Day 2 pick and move back 5-10 spots...

Believe me, there are teams that want that 11th spot real bad in this draft...

You are right JP .. a lot of kids come through the NFL with all the tools but when it comes to the NFL and the QB position, it's all about off the field & how focused and committed these kids will be on the job. This is a Chief, decision-maker position. While you do need physical skills, it's the off the field things that make the difference. A million dollar arm (see Jamarcus, Leinart, Manzell) and a .15 cent head doesn't cut it at this level anymore.

I don't even think Kelly is on Sean Payton's radar.

I would love to sit Kelly behind Brees for a year. Payton could get his next qb. cheap.
