How in the world is trading a proven 1000 yard wr for a rd 1 "might be a stud" a good idea??????? If they don't get multiple picks then they got screwed.

It is what you do when you need to build a Defense. That WR is getting you 7-9 year after year. You have something that you can move up and take a chance on a rockstar that you can play more downs and be the corner stone/qb of your D you do it.

As good as he is... he isn't our #1 WR I would argue he isn't even our #2 guy. He is our deep threat guy only. We can get a player who is a STARTER not every few plays we insert him.

I love the idea!

Via Rotoworld...

Bleacher Report's Jason Cole has confirmed the Titans are trying to trade for Brandin Cooks. Cole's report is via a "Titans source." Tennessee seems like the clear favorite to land the explosive wideout, but the Saints are working on increasing their leverage. Coach Sean Payton has said any offer must be "substantial." It's looking more and more likely Cooks will no longer be a Saint this time next week.

"New England Patriots sent away edge defender Chandler Jones to the Arizona Cardinals in exchange for offensive guard Jonathan Cooper and a 2016 2nd round pick."

Cooper is colossal bust so is basically 2nd round pick for excellent edge rusher entering his prime.

New England Patriots didn't want to pay him big money. That's why he got traded.

Cooks is waiting for his payday also. Is he worth 12+mil per season (next offseason better WRs will get 10+ mil easily on the open market)? Not in our system.

I'll say again, first rounder for Cooks (in this draft) is very good deal.

I guess those TD celebrations between Thomas and Snead were telling something about Cooks.
Most of us picked up on it.

When Thomas scored, Cooks would run off the field. Thomas was congratulated by everyone except Cooks.

When Cooks scored, Michael Thomas was the first one over there to congratulate him.

Cooks always seemed cocky in interviews, I thought maybe he just didn't like the media but after he complained after a 28 point win it spoke volumes.

Let him go to Tennessee, let him complain when Demarco Murray carries the ball too many times.

Re: Brandin Cooks Trade Talks

The issue we have here, if the Cooks wanting out rumour is true, is he will have told the Titans he will walk next year if a trade doesn't get done. This gives some leverage back to the Titans to say "well if you don't accept our offer, we will wait to next year and get him for nothing".

If we bend over, I will be super pissed. I can see it happening.

Cooks will get a 5th year option next year. Roughly 6 million. We have 30 million to rebuild the defense. Don't mess up the offense to fix the defense. Would you take parts off one car to fix another if you owned and drove both? Makes no sense.

Re: Brandin Cooks Trade Talks

What if LF runs a sub 4 then what. Would we really pass on him if we move to 5 and he's there? I know this sounds squirrel but I just don't see how we could roll our eyes and go defense. I just don't see it.

Re: Brandin Cooks Trade Talks

Why does everyone say he will walk next year???? Saints can pick up his option for like 6 million. Why not wait till next year to make the trade?????
