Re: Brandin Cooks Trade Talks
Ive said before about Ingram
I kike him but he is a bit of a jack of all trades RB. He can do everything but nothing to an exceptional level. He doesnt have the speed of the top backs or the power of the biggest. Ive often thought we could do with a monster back there for short yardage. A Blount,Jacobs type. Once the get their feet moving they are getting 2 to 3 yards wether you like it or not |

The change came when Kelly got the boot and after Kendricks signed the big deal. Pressure is placed on the DL not the LB as it was with Kelly. This is not using Kendricks to maximize his skill set. Thus making that big contract unjustifiable. |

Re: Brandin Cooks Trade Talks
unless all this Cooks trade stuff is to get pick 5.
The move makes no sense. LF running style would require the saints to redo their thinking on the OL. We are not a power run scheme team. The OL is built for zone blocking. I do not think LF would do well running behind a zone scheme. Brooks? sure All this after taking the one WR that had the skill set to get teams out of playing 8 in the box? Sounds like the saints would be painting themselves into a corner on the offensive side of the ball while keeping the defense in the dumpster. It makes no sense to me unless FA money goes into the right side of the line and we get some speed at WR to take the top off a defense. |

Re: Brandin Cooks Trade Talks
As much as id love to redress the rosters RBs there are more pressing needs
Id be a bit disapointed if we got an extra 1st and used it on a RB this year. Next year id be ok with if a few holes were fixed. I prefer run first football with a strong D but i think them days are gone. The league rules changes have made a Baltimore early 00 D impossible. Its about getting playmakers in the backfield and pressure in the front 7 these days imo. rush the passer and have the players capable of turnovers ready to capitalise in the backfield Unforunatley we have neither. So get the front 7 sorted, get another couple of DBs and get the O line stronger is the best place to start |
"Two receivers to the left, Garcon to the right. Manning in the shotgun, puts Collie in motion. Looks in his direction...it's picked off! It's picked off! It's Tracy Porter again! He's runnin' free! He's gonna go all the way!

If we drafted Fournette, then Mark Ingram would need to be traded. There's no point to making him a third down back or something. And no point in drafting Fournette to be a short yardage back.
IMO, the focus needs to be on the defensive line, LBs and secondary. Maybe even the offensive line. We have huge holes and question marks all over those. RB is not a need right now. I'm not going to piss and moan if they draft Fournette, but they better have big plans to do something about the gaping holes on defense if they go that route. We already know that a really good offense and a ****ty defense won't get you more then 7-9. |
