Christian McCaffrey's 5 best fits in 2017 NFL Draft (Pick No. 11 or No. 32)

New Orleans is in play for the hometown hero Fournette, but there's a strong chance he'll be gone before that initial first-rounder. And really, McCaffrey is the better all-around back for the Saints' offense, so the question is: Are they willing and able to a) use that higher pick on him b) trade down from 11th to get him at a more comfortable spot or c) trade up from 32nd to get him before he's gone, too?

The span between the picks also represents the wide range of McCaffrey's current draft value. Having two high picks post-Brandin Cooks gives the Saints a chance to address a defensive need early and also go offensive luxury to address their closing window with Drew Brees at the helm. Given how Mark Ingram disappointed last season, a back of McCaffrey's caliber is more of a necessity than they would like to admit.

McCaffrey would have a big, immediate impact with any role in a loaded, rebooted attack.

We could have McCaffrey, Fournette, Peterson and O.J. ****in' Simpson in his prime and still be thrown' the ball on damn near every down! We haven't been a running team under Peyton and we ain't never gonna be a running team.

"Given how Mark Ingram disappointed last season..."

5.1 yards per carry on over 200 carries. That's the 5th highest YPC in the NFL last year.

I hope he disappoints like that again next season.

I love Ingram. I'm not an Alabama homer or an LSU homer. I just like when he runs angry. He had a great year on a pass first team. MI is the real deal.

I think he's gonna really run well this year. I'm on board with a McCaffrey pick. But I love to watch Mark run.

Ingram is alright. Decent pick minus turf toe, out running his blockers half the time and horrible vision.

I'm thinking a very solid no though on offense in RND 1. We didn't get rid of a 2X 1,000 yard WR to get an unproven scatback.

Ingram is solid. The Saints would be more solid with McCaffrey and Ingram.
