Re: Saints Possible Options At Pick No. 11

the pats will flip 32 for more picks to make up for the picks they already traded.

pick 32 is not just one pick but could count for as many as 3 picks.

Then the contract price adding in?

Rather we went for Stephon Gilmore when all is totaled

your also throwing away a fifth year option player.

I do not like pick 32 involved in this at all.

He is not worth it

I believe we could wait one more year before seriously looking for Drews' replacement

I believe we're gonna have to. There's just not worthy successor out there for this draft, just a bunch of "settle fors".

I would want to know the reasoning of not signing Gilmore? Puzzles me why we give up a 32 in the 1st and get Butler when we could have gotten Gilmore and pulled the trigger on a cb. at 32 or 42 with a great big deep draft on corners. I totally agree with you.

At this point in time, we haven't given up the #32. I hope it stays that way and we just draft a CB in the draft at some point...

Draft a play maker @ #11.

Circle back to 2016 ... we've lost a few games because the opposing team had one more guy who could make a play for his team than we did.

Maturity issues, character/behavioral concerns, red flags popping up galore.
I think he is off the Saints board & he could possibly fall to day 2.

I was actually kidding K, especially since I'm seeing 32 going for Butler anyway.

Just as long as they sign a player from Georgia Tech! The front office needs something to be "abuzz" about!

Re: Saints Possible Options At Pick No. 11

When the off season began, I wanted the FO to select:

DE Malik McDowell, Michigan State

Since the NFL Combine & Pro Days, I now want:

Christian McCaffrey, Standford

Darkhorse Candidate for No. 11:

OLB Takkarist McKinley, UCLA or OT Ryan Ramcyzk, Wisconsin

Who'll I'll be most disappointed in drafting:

Tenn DE Derek Barnett or Bama TE O.J. Howard

Who'd cause me the most nervous optimism, cold sweats till his first play:

Bama LB Reuben Foster

Who'd I'd be shocked if they fell to us:

SS Jamal Adams, RB Leonard Fournette, or CB Marshon Lattimore

Who I think will fall and be there at No. 11 and we should also pass:

DL Jonathan Allen and FS Malik Hooker

Freaky Thing happens: If Cleveland, San Fran, and Chicago all took QBs:

Sit tight and NOT load the boat to move up to JAX spot

When would I trade back?

If DE Myles Garrett, SS Jamal Adams, CB Marshon Lattimore, RB Christian McCaffrey, QB Mitchell Trubiskey are all off the board - and Ireland would handle the negotiations.

Most interesting situation I'd like to see the Saints in:

If QB Mitchell Trubisky is there with no quarterbacks taken at that point...

Re: Saints Possible Options At Pick No. 11

I read an article that the saints use analytics in determining draft picks. Apparently, with CBS they want someone who had a lot of pass breakups in addition to character. so with DEs my guess is they want someone who gets a lot of QB hurries rather than sacks. With RBs, my guess is receptions and ypc. It was some article I read with Loomis talking about this. They want the BPA among these statistics.

I know he's from Alabama and well... I don't like the Crimson Tide...
But this guy has All Pro written all over him and is a "Can't Miss"

O.J. Howard - Tight End, Senior — Alabama :bng:
Height: 6'6" | Weight: 251 lbs. | Arm Length: 33 3/4" | Hands: 10"
40 Yard Dash: 4.51 seconds | 3 Cone Drill: 6.85 seconds | 20 Yard Shuttle: 4.16 seconds
Bench Press:
22 reps | Vertical: 30"| Broad Jump: 121"

Take a deep breath and pray while understanding DA is a athletic junkie. Could make for a fun 2017 season. Talk about a huge roll of the dice

11 - Haason Reddick, WLB, Temple 6014 237 4.54 #58 rSr
32 - Tyus Bowser SLB Houston 6021 240 4.67 #81 Sr

42 T.J. Watt DE/SLB/TE Wisconsin 6042 243 4.65 #42 rJr

Anthony becomes part draft day trade

Re: Saints Possible Options At Pick No. 11

PFF's "Final Mock Draft" (posted this morning)

11. New Orleans Saints
Reuben Foster, LB, Alabama

There are holes all over the defensive side of the ball in New Orleans, but linebacker has been a particularly sore spot in recent years. Foster brings a three-down playmaker as he was the nation’s top-graded linebacker at 93.3 overall in 2016. He has the aggressiveness to take on blocks in the run game and the athleticism to hang with running backs and tight ends in coverage, and aside from his off-field concerns that have popped up during the draft process, Foster is an excellent fit for the Saints defense that is in need of playmakers.

Finally! A final mock draft! The mock draft to end all mock drafts! I don't really believe it's the final mock draft.

This would be perfection! I don't have any inside info or anything, but I'm starting to think Haason Reddick will be the pick at 11.

With the news of Gareon Conley being investigated for rape, Marlon Humphrey looks more and more realistic. Payton loves legacy players as well.

Gil Brandt was evaluating him over the weekend. He gave up 17+ yards per completion as a starter & has struggled in coverage. Side note - Mike Williams (Clemson WR) abused him in the title game. Had no answer whatsoever over the top. Needs quite a bit of work. I think @ #11, its a reach for Mr. Humphrey. I'd take Tre White instead since he is a more Pro Ready cornerback.

I doubt if any CB worthy of the #11 pick will fall to #11. We "need" to not look at need, but make the pick for BPA.

Holy ****! I'm starting to sound like y'all!

Play makers.

If you think either of the aforementioned players game will translate well to the NFL, you draft em.

Really thinking the AP signing was a smokescreen (only this year guaranteed) and we take McCaffrey if he's there at No. 11...
