In all seriousness though, the secondary and Front 7 have to work in tandem. It wasn't all one positional groups fault, it was always a mixture.

Sometimes the DB's had great coverage but the D line gave the QB 5+ seconds to pass.

Sometimes the D line got good pressure but the DB's lost their men immediatedly off the line.

They have to learn to work as a group, 2009's D was filled with unwanted players and players that weren't that great, but they played hard for each other every snap and had a mindset that they would out work every offense.

Give me a tenacious defense......we'll see more turn overs and shorter field position for Drew.

Yes a tenacious D would be nice!! I don't think we are near that though. We might get into the 22 to 25 range this season if we don't I hope they ax Allens head because it would be 2 1/2 years without showing any improvement at all. My eyes are all on him to make or break the season.

?

Why all the doom and gloom? It will be a tough road to start the season no doubt, but why not wait until we see where we are as a team before calling for DA's job? The defense kept us in games last year that Special Teams or Offense gave away. Namely @ Carolina, Denver, Kansas City, the Giants.

If you couldn't see a progression in the overall defense, then I don't know what to tell you.

Could be I'm tired of fielding pathetic D's. I shouldn't have to even list the years, you should know them. And as far as Allen I'm sticking to my guns and still say if it wasn't for Gregg Williams and Sharper he would not even be on another teams radar as a DC. Payton surely has stacked the deck for this ( friend, puppet) DC, he better do good!!

Whatever sinking feeling you might have about Dennis it has to be offset by the fact that there's no Bill Johnson or Vitt around anymore.

And then add Mike Nolan. I think people are underestimating the quality of LB coach we have
