Re: Saints & Brees chatting about $100 million extension
So I get that we still suck and everyone is upset about it. Losing is depressing and we do a lot of it. But to those of you saying Brees should leave I have to ask wtf is wrong with you? Step out from under the dark cloud and realize that letting the best player to ever wear a Saints uniform just walk away isn't going to make us better. And no, we cannot trade him because he has a NO TRADE CLAUSE IN HIS CONTRACT. Seriously guys, I have seen that info posted on here countless times and some of you just gloss right over it. He.won't.be.traded, so get that idea out of your head. If the man is willing to stay and put up with the BS why the hell do you want him gone so badly? He looks as good as ever, he's not the problem. I want him here to help right the ship again, so that the next QB doesn't inherit this dumpster fire. I've seen dozens of young QB's careers derailed before they even had a chance because they ended up with a team devoid of talent and the whole mess is put on their shoulders. That's the kind of decision making that can set a franchise adrift for many many years. We're in bad shape now, and maybe Payton does need to go, that will work itself out one way or another, but Drew leaving helps no one but the next team he plays for. Drew is not the problem. Repeat after me, Drew is not the problem.

Re: Saints & Brees chatting about $100 million extension
I would go 3 year $75 million. First two years fully guaranteed. His 39th and 40th years. If he can still play and wants to be a Saint in year three, pay the man.

Re: Saints & Brees chatting about $100 million extension
I'm a saints fan.
Not a player fan. Now by saying that, would love brees to finish here with a ring. We are no where even close, I'm starting to fall in line with most here. Blow up the team, trade brees get as much as we can. He deserves another ring.Throw the top two outand start all over again. |
