Post June 1st cut & save Savings $6.5M in 2018 Carrying the dead money .from 2019 and 2020 at $4.8M For a net cap savings by 2020 of $1.7M So by going for Post June 1st in 2018 That $3.3M gain in 2018 would actually drop to $1.7M by 2020 By going the Opt out route Cap gain will be $8.0M by 2019 Thats a cost to us of $6.3M in lost cap space by 2020 for cap space now Put off the $3.3M gain in 2018 and take the $8.0M in 2019 is the way I see it If we are talking a sure fire super bowl run I could see the logic in the Post June 1st cut option. Which I do not see as a logical risk to take next year, It is not working out so well for the pats and they were suppose to be a sure thing this year. Well almost as sure fire as anything can get. Please!!!! correct me if I am wrong I would love to get a grip on all these changes to the player contracts rules |

Having the contract structured in that way gives team greater flexibility in getting contracts under the salary cap... For example, if we moved Armstead, short of him doing a sign and trade, that first season we still take the hit his base of the calender year he's moved, then signing bonus could be accelerated into that year... That's why trades are so difficult outside of the NFL Draft... |
