Hanging on to a third, developmental quarterback is one thing, but with only 53 spots available on an active in-season NFL roster, it gets real thin, real fast...

If you're a WR4, you're bringing something immediate to that roster - especially a team who's talent level has dramatically improved as the Saints have...

Snead had one bad year versus two very good years - and he's paying the price for that one bad year by likely relocating teams...

Hopefully, we've got a healthy upgrade better suited to solve third down/red zone woes, but don't kid yourself and think we're not losing a good player...
Based on the way Snead played last year both could and would beat him out this year. People are saying he wasn’t given a chance. He was given every opportunity in the world last year to make an impact. Drew spreads the ball around and Snead still only had 9 catches. Sry, but I’ll trust the front office over you. There is a reason why meridith was paid and Snead wasn’t.

You need to work on your comprehension skills...

Never said Meredith wasn't a potential upgrade over Snead...

Point of fact, even stated that Meredith's signing was meant to address giving Drew a bigger, better red zone target...

I simply questioned your illogical statement that Snead in some way wasn't worth the roster spot that somehow should have gone Dural et al...

And I emphasized that roster spots are a premium in the NFL and that the Saints obviously still valued Snead, also another illogical assumption you made...

And so far as chances, Snead didn't get near the targets he got the two previous years - you can research that at Pro Football Reference - educate yourself...

It's not that my way is the right way, I just make the right way my way...

Oh well... See you Willie... Wish you the best.
See if you can figure out how I do that?

Slick Willie is officially a Raven now so there's that.

Admittedly, I don't know all the rules for free agency. Why exactly don't we get anything in return if he was restricted?

There are four different tender options on the RFA eligible player.

First-round tender: Free agent can negotiate with other teams, but original team has option to match any deal and will receive a first-round selection if it opts not to match the deal.

Second-round tender: Free agent can negotiate with other teams, but original team has option to match any deal and will receive a second-round selection if it opts not to match the deal.

Original-round tender: Free agent can negotiate with other teams, but original team has option to match any deal and will receive a selection equal to the round the player was originally selected in if it opts not to match the deal.

Right of first refusal: Free agent can negotiate with other teams, but original team has option to match any deal. The team will not receive any compensation if it opts not to match another deal.

First-round tenders are valued at $4.149 million in 2018.
Second-round tenders are $2.914 million.
Original-round and low-level tenders are $1.907 million.

Snead was undrafted so the original and low-level tenders would be the same. The Saints placed the low-level tender on Snead.

Guido covered everything in his previous explanation but I'll also add that as it relates to compensatory picks, signing Cameron & losing Willie is a swap.

He was tendered with the right to match the offer.
