That's right. I forgot you got your jolly's off anything that discomforts others. Carry on.

I wonder what the odds are that we’ve seen Mark play his last down in a Saints uniform. I know odds are pretty low, but holding out and getting suspended... We know what happens when you get into Payton’s doghouse.

What makes you think he's holding out? According to Zach Streif, Ingram is working out with his own trainer and that's why he isn't working out in Metairie. That's not that uncommon.

Once again, the talk of a holdout is nothing but pure speculation. I have read all of the articles mentioning that and not one of them says he is actually holding out. They are all using words like "appears to be" and "might" and "according to @RapSheet". We all know, of course, that @RapSheet is none other than Ian "Fullacrap" Rapoport who notoriously throws out all sorts of speculation hoping that something "might" "appear to be" sticking to the wall.

Not others...be more specific.

And AG what does discomfort is you advocating resigning a player who is suspended four games for cheating and refusing to come to voluntary workouts. And that same player in the past through a temper tantrum when another running back was allowed to score a TD and not him...ya know he has an eye for what's important.

I think there is some writing on the wall with this guy. Suspended for cheating, not coming to voluntary workouts, and the temper tantrum he threw when our team scored a TD because it wasn't him scoring...

Yeah, I think there is some writing on the wall. I certainly wouldn't resign the guy amidst this

Good thing you don't have anything to do with personnel.

Think Lewis when we went ahead and guaranteed all his money and he never truly played another down. Now with KL I didn't mind as much because that dude gave us every shred of what he had. Will never forget the softball sized bump on his knee he played with, ouch!

What do you mean "suspended four games for cheating"? In what way was he "cheating"? How is taking a supplement that unknowingly and incorrectly contains a trace of banned substance "cheating"? That's what Strief hinted at in the NFL Radio interview. How is training on your own and not at the facilities wrong given half the players in the league do the same thing in the off-season? April 16th was the first date players could use the facilities on a voluntary basis. Many established players work out on their own

And you do realize that their have not even been any organized "voluntary workouts" yet, right? No, of course not because you have no clue about the crap you spew.

The first organized workout date is not until May 22nd and their isn't a mandatory date until June 12th.

Just admit it. You love hating on people. You are always among the first to crawl out from under a rock and start demonizing a player any chance you can get.

Sad existence.

Post June was a no brainer. Funny how the same people around here that constantly gripped and moaned about "dead cap" are the same ones rejoicing the Saints having to eat another $8.2 million of the same. It does surprise me that they released him, but it had to have been the medical issues that forced the move.

Yawn, back with your same accusations. No one knows what type of cheating he did. What we do know is he put himself in position to be suspended for four games.

Yes, voluntary. It means use of the facilities. It is extremely common for players with access to training facilities of their own to use them instead of the team facilities at this time of the year.

And nobody knows what happened for him to get suspended. And how do you know HE put himself in position to be suspended? If it was indeed a product that the NFL 24 hour "hot line" approved, as also suggested by Strief, then he was put into that position by others.

Most reasonable persons would wait for the whole story before condemning. But not you. Nope.

I guess you don't need legitimate reasons to hate.

The reason why this can get by is that the supplement business is not controlled by the FDA.

So, basically, a player can call the official number and ask if a product was okay to take and he would be told "yes". Then, if he came up with a trace of a banned substance from a tainted product he would be in violation of the PED policy. You can fight it "vigorously" as a player, but you are going to lose.

That is the reason why as soon as any of the Swedish teams I played for signed a US player we instructed them to stop taking any US produced supplements an to not bring any over here. The risk was just too big.

We have several other RB's and Ingram still hasn't totally exhausted all avenues of appeal ... only those through the league. Once the written decision comes out this Wednesday his legal team could choose to demand an outside arbiter hear the case.

I have a feeling that Payton knows that Ingram was ****ed over in the deal. Every indication is that trace amount of substance was found in his sample of a non-performance menacing, yet still prohibited nature. Four different Saints players talked about supplemental products that are not on the banned list at all, but had been tainted that led to the suspension. Zack Strief said that's why he NEVER used any supplement at all because of the chance that this could occur. He said that the manufacturers produce their products for the general public (banned substances galore!) and the professional community.

Which he should know as a true professional. Do not take that stuff. Workout and eat healthy meals. Supplements won't add any value nutritionally if one is eating right. Supplements are pseudo science. And these guys eat very very well. I have eaten at their training camps and there is no king on this planet that eats better than them.

I believe he will in fact be traded. For one, he will not be here next year regardless. Boston Scott and West will be the new 3 headed monster. We will actually be better off. Defenses will have no clue and Kamara can get more of a breather.

jeanpierre 07-17-2018 02:36 AM

Re: Mark Ingram Suspended Four Games(Update: Appeal denied)

Chris Carter made a great point - this suspension is at the start of the season and not hanging over the team being a distraction - it is done...

Sean Payton will have all of training camp to redistribute the work load for Ingram's production and to game plan and mask Ingram's absence...

And there's one more point to also throw in - Ingram will be coming in fresh, fired up, and energized for a team in the second quarter of the season...

This is also a terrific opportunity to evaluate the roster, identifying Ingram's replacement when his contract demands at age 30 are not sustainable...

I'm more concerned about having quality reserves to sustain a Run for the Lombardi Trophy than I am missing Ingram for four games...

Re: Mark Ingram Suspended Four Games(Update: Appeal denied)

I won’t mind having fresh legs. If Kamara is still healthy hopefully he will be just as potent. Plus teams won’t have any film from this year with him in it. Mark Ingram is mark Ingram but I’m sure Payton will have evolved the game plan.

Re: Mark Ingram Suspended Four Games(Update: Appeal denied)

One point I heard is that if the PED that was in his system, how much of of factor was that last year? He's not a young man. His touches also declined there right at the end.

All I know is we have done extremely well drafting as of late so what is best in life looking down the road? If BS or West work out really have to consider getting something for MI right now. We won't get much but, start building picks up to get back in the 1st.
