Deuce better than Dalton Hillard? (Video Clip)
I like Deuce, and its obvious he will become our greatest ever, barring catostrophic injury.
I\'m bias because I grew up watching Hilliard. Ronnie Lott said he was the hardest hitting RB and the hardest to bring down in the whole league. He was a scrappy overachiever who would have had 3 times the success if he\'d played on a 2000 era NFL offense. Oh, and I can\'t remember one single time Dalton was outrun by a 32 year old TE. |

Deuce better than Dalton Hillard? (Video Clip)
I also grew up watching Dalton incompany... INCOMPANY. There is no comparison. I liked Dalton myself, but there is absolutely no comparison. In the couple of years Deuce has been here, he\'s been able to out perform Dalton by 10 folds. It reall makes me wonder how some people can even say Dalton comes any where close to what Deuce has meant to this franchise... Have really REALLY been watching the same football games?! Because I surely know what I\'ve been seeing for the last 10 plus years... I\'m just not sure everyone is on the same page... even George Rogers has nothing on Deuce period.

Deuce, period. Every day and twice on Sunday.
It\'s amusing to me to see the people on this board who consistently question our regular performers/producers - but give a pass to their favorite player. Very interesting. |

Ricky 3 years at starter: 1999 New Orleans Saints 12 12 253 884 3.5 25 2 4 45 2000 New Orleans Saints 10 10 248 1000 4.0 26 8 3 56 2001 New Orleans Saints 16 16 313 1245 4.0 46 6 2 58 Deuce three years as a starter: 2002 New Orleans Saints 15 15 325 1388 4.3 62 13 10 65 2003 New Orleans Saints 16 16 351 1641 4.7 76 8 16 69 2004 New Orleans Saints 14 14 269 1074 4.0 71 9 5 53 Let\'s see, Deuce\'s worst year, he totaled more than 2 of Ricky\'s years. Seriously, what are you people talking about? Dalton was a scrappy, likeable, third down type guy and Ricky Williams was a solid back who Deuce immediately supplanted in the lineup. It\'s not just in the numbers, Deuce is/was/will always be a better back than either of those guys. And Danno, what\'s your problem with Deuce? You usually have good stuff to say, but good grief, I don\'t see where Duece has been anything but solid here. He had bodies on him from the get go on almost every running play last year. Most of his yards were YAC. If you watched amman or priest run through those 5 yard wide holes you would see a distinct difference in what we had to work with. Duece never pops off at the mouth, he works hard, he plays hurt AND he produces. Did Dalton or Ricky ever run for 70+ ib one carry while so grossly out of shape as you guys put it? I really don\'t think so. (I know Ricky hardly ever went over 20 as a Saint.) I\'ve said it before, I\'ll say it again: Focusing on Deuce as a negative on this team is completely misguided. Plug him in and he\'ll do his job. \'04 was not a good year for Duece. The fumbles were disappointing and he could have shed a few pounds. But, the reason we won the last 4 games was Duece on offense and better defense. He can carry this team and he hopefully will in \'05. |

Thanx yassy for reinforcing my faith in Deuce....Dalton was the bomb but deuce is just flat out better.......put deuce behind Denver or KC\'s O-line and he\'d have 2000 yrds.....
(like I pray our O-line will be this year) Deuce will be top 3 this year......... |
