Deuce better than Dalton Hillard? (Video Clip)

this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; Here's a clip from SaintRob. It's the 80's offense with a lot of Dalton's highlights. Personally, I think Dalton was the better back. You decide. Click on the link to view. http://www.cdol.com/saints/80soffense.wmv...

Deuce better than Dalton Hillard? (Video Clip)

Wow, from those limited clips, I guess we can say Bobby Hebert is better than Brooks too. He seemed to avoid rushes, throw touch passes, and I didn\'t see a fumble or INT. Also, we can say Eric Martin is better than Joe Horn, cause from those limited clips, I saw that he averaged about 25 YAC, which is much more than Joe. Hell, from those clips, Reuben Mayes and Ironhead was better than Deuce too. The team was also able to run screen passes, so from the limited clips those offenses must have been better than our current one.

Dalton is my all time favorite Saint, and Ronnie Lott even said when he was playing, Dalton Hilliard was the hardest tackle he had to make, but Dalton is not better than Deuce IMO. Did you see the holes he had from those limited clips? Not one had a defender in the backfield ever, and every screen worked. Imagine highlights would put a certain player in a very preferable light. Guess that\'s why they call them HIGHlights.

Deuce better than Dalton Hillard? (Video Clip)

saintswhodi --

Come on dude ... I\'m not suggesting anyone draw a conclusion on Deuce vs. Dalton strictly from that video clip.

But, I think most fans remember seeing Dalton Hillard in his prime. The video clip was just a little reminder of how good Dalton was.

To me, Dalton could make defenders miss like no other Saints\' RB I\'ve ever seen. And, IMO, Dalton was a much better receiver than Deuce.

Dalton was a very good, under-rated back, and also a family friend as he did business with my father, but i still think Deuce is better.

Dalton is shifty and hard to tackle.
Deuce is bigger and faster.
In today\'s game, I don\'t see Dalton being able to carry 25 times a game.

It surprise how people forget. Dalton is by far better than Deuce. Deuce is more like potential to be the best saint\'s rb & Dalton is the best saint \'s rb. Out of the 4 season he played only 2 great season. Dalton was closest player I seen to run like Barry, however Deuce run more like Bo Jackson ....but if he don\'t come in better condition than last year he want be in comparison to the saint \'s old time great...

ROFL OMG LOL... Dalton versus Deuce. Are you being serious here? It\'s not April fools again is it? :rollinglaugh:

He might have been a fan favorite... but between 1986-1993 he averaged 3.6 yards per carry and had only ONE thousand yard season. There is no comparison here.

it is really hard to compare people from different eras. but hilliard only went over the 1000 yard mark once. deuce has done it 3 times already. i think right there deuce has to be the better back. bayou king if out of 4 seasons that deuce has been here, having gone over the 1000 yard mark 3 times and not 4 because he sat one year, and hilliard only did it one in his career, how do you say how hilliard was the better back? and to you also gumbo i ask
