Precisely, I love the stat from 2009 to 2011 when Brees led a scoring drive and it showed that he threw to 6 or 7 different people on one drive. That's when we were at our best.

Whilst Kamara is great, I hate that little flare pass we throw to him, far too easy for Defenses to read.

You're joking right? When good D coordinators take away (it will happen) our #1 target, then what?

Did you watch any Saints football last season and the offensive woes (Snead disappeared on 3rd down) we had with pass catching to anyone not named Thomas or Kamara?

The game vs Lions became atrocious very quickly. 45-10 up in the first half, offense couldn't convert a third down at all in the 2nd half, Lions scored 28 unanswered points and we got lucky on D to score a TD that sealed the game.

It will happen, our offense will sputter if they don't find another target.

Like I said...if Thomas and Kamara were actually covered when Brees was throwing them ball it would be a different conversation. He isn’t forcing it to then like he did with Jimmy Graham. Meredith will make a difference though.

Brees is not the key to us being a SB contender... it’s the running game. If we can start running the ball well again we will start putting more wins together. It’s not about Brees throwing to 100 different WRs or only targeting 1 guy all game, just run the ball well to set up the PA and keep the defense off the field.

And the defense. We need a 16-20 defense

The last two posts are good points. I think we have a top 15 defense if they would just do their jobs and stop trying to run a single-high safety.

Getting more touches to another WR won't change anything because it's not an issue with Brees completing 8 of 10 passes. Nobody has that going on. Stop it first then it needs attention.

The D has to turn it around. The big strikes are killing us but that is what we do. Give up big 30 plus yards strikes consistently and then demand Brees bail us out. He can do it sometimes but not every damn game. They have to step up.

It has already become an issue when we didn't score a TD until the 4th quarter vs the Brown's.

Those receptions are being contained. They are not turning into scoring plays. A defense can give up short passes all day long as long as they contain the play. Having more receivers in play will spread the field more and lead to more explosive plays, thus more scoring.
