Thomas and Dez (if he returns) makes 2 legit receivers... maybe.... We should carry 4 legit receivers. We also have backups at tight end. Free agency will be interesting.

Don't forget that we have Cameron Meredith that never got the opportunity to play fully healthy still under contract. As it was he caught 90% of his targets in his short time playing. Carr needs to go. He's become a waste of roster space. Kirkwood has potential and Smith needs to learn how to become more aggressive from Thomas.

Re: Offseason needs

Go all out in free agency. We probably have one year left with Brees so I want to sign everyone possible who can contribute.

Tight End is near top of the list

Cornerback

Interior D line to ease loss of Rankins

Upgrade linebacker and Safety

O line depth

Re: Offseason needs

Looking back, I think Saints were up 20-10 or so vs the Lambs. No one was able to get open second half & no consistent run game. Our last option was TLL in a crucial moment.

Folks we really need help at WR (#2). Specifically in the red zone. Brees would have hit a Golden Tate, Dez, Cole Beasley or Jarvis Landry (wanted him coming out of LSU) types. Any of those guys, that's 6. Maybe Dez is up to the challenge in NO ? Maybe Meredith gets back to 100% health with his knee? Maybe 3re Smith wakes up in year 2?

All big "maybe's".

Finding another legit WR is paramount for me this off season.

I read an interview with him a month or two ago where he said that he knows what route to run, but doesn’t understand why he’s running that route (I.e. clearing out space or drawing coverage away from others.) You’re spot-on with what you saw. Hopefully it’s just a learning process.

Re: Offseason needs

Payton and Loomis have both been making the point that they aren’t worried about our lack of draft picks because there are ways of acquiring more picks. It sounds like they plan on trading some players.

Not really sure who would be a good candidate for that though other than Peat.

Peat has been less than expected, though he was dealing with a broken hand during the playoffs. The issue the Saints face is, looking at our roster and lack of draft picks, how do you fill holes without creating holes? The only area that appears to have depth is the D-line.
