Re: 2019 Saints NFL Free Agency
Peat isn't awful ... just average and he's hurt (he's finished on IR 2 of his 3 years in the league) a lot.
I wouldn't pay average 9.5M for a single season & you certainly don't hand him 10+M a year in an extension. If a player struggles with injuries, they need to be elite like Armstead to justify it. If Peat would like to come back for 6M a year, then fine but I doubt he will. |

Re: 2019 Saints NFL Free Agency
For 2016, 2017, 2018? By the numbers on Mr. Glass, these are his Games Started (Does Not Mean Finished) by season...
2013 - 02 2014 - 14 2015 - 13 *Contract Extension 2016 - 07 2017 - 10 2018 - 10 This is why I defend Peat as I do. While a Pro should thoroughly prepare, Peat probably has had to prepare as both a LG and LT more than any other OLineman in the league... |

Re: 2019 Saints NFL Free Agency
Not implying that I want Crabtree however it's crucial that we find a legit/complimentary #2 WR this off season.
I still say don't sleep on Cameron Meredith. His best days are ahead of him if healthy. I believe there is a legitimate reason why the Saints invested so much in him. IMO TLL and Carr are wasted roster spots. |

Preston Smith ...
Wonder if the Saints will take a flyer on this guy in Free Agency? Not a household name but he's a big frame (6'6) & can get to the QB with consistent "pressure". |

Would love to have a pass rusher like that, but with needs at DT3, NT and currently on about $12mil in cap space, we bring back Okafor if he doesn't like his market... Get the feeling Free Agency will be a RB (likely Ingram extension), NT (likely Davison extension), DT3 (anybody's guess), OL sixth man (plus trade(s) of current OLmen), and maybe a safety... |

Speaking of the Oakland Raiders, I do like Jonathan Hankins at DT. Good player on a terrible team. Darius Philon is another guy who is emerging & is only 25. |

Frank Clark (edge) ...
I know, I know it's a pipe dream but he can flat out play and sack the QB. The stats don't lie. If we would "go all out in FA", Frank is a guy I'd be happy to have putting Crablegs, Matty Ice & Fig Newton on their a** twice a year. |
