The deal may have been impossible to even consider while trying to fit Thomas' new contract into the budget. We have to have our priorities and I think you would agree that Thomas is right up there near, if not at, the top.

With Theo Riddick we would have a true back-up to Kamara. Plus, we could put both of them in the backfield flanking Brees in the shotgun and create really good mismatches.

You would like to think that when a draft prospect gets high as a kite and falls out of a fourth floor window it validates the red flags.

True, but a guy that gets up and walks away from that, got to be one tough SOB and you may want him on that defensive line - especially goal line stands...
