Re: 2019 New Orleans Saints: Roster Outlook
We’re really going into Seattle with a receiving corp of Thomas, Ginn, Carr and Humphrey. Yikes.

I'll guarantee you one freaking thing, if TE No. 87 doesn't get his arse in gear, we can forget about going .500 till Drew gets back... Jared Cook has been M.I.A. since the season began, it's getting harder and harder for him to hide with so many guys out now... |

WR-S (2) 80 - Austin Carr, 84 - Lil’Jordan Humphrey (UDFA 2019)
^^^ Carr is a vet, been in Payton's system since 2017, 2 straight in-actives to start the season, got a ringing endorsement from Brees at camp on his "value, knowledge" yet they promoted a undrafted rookie to play in the slot. Not sure why Carr is still holding on to a roster spot. |

It's the talent, coaching; look, part of the advantage of being a UDFA vs a late round pick is that you can pick your best opportunity, not only for a roster spot, but playing time... Got to offer a more coin to sign better o-linemen who inexplicably (not really, just p*ss-poor, nepotism-hired scouts) fall through the draft; develop them and sign them to cost-effective contracts as veterans... Imagine where we'd be right now if we'd signed LG Andrew Norwell, Alejandro Villanueva, La'el Collins, Matt Skura as a UDFA? And don't even get me started on late round picks we didn't have because Payton has target fixation on a couple of players and lacks good draft management skills... |
It's not that my way is the right way, I just make the right way my way...
