Point was, we had a starting center. When Unger retired, priorities changed.

I hear ya. Can you imagine how bad it might’ve been this season though with a crappy center?

We survived pretty well from 2010-2013 with Brian de la Puente at center (And please don't misinterpret this as a knock on Erik McCoy)...

Wonder if Easton was apprised of the situation when he signed or if he got a reassurance phone call from Coach Payton that he'd get a fair shot at the job...

His contract should have told him it was a one year deal unless he cements the spot

I can’t argue with the pick. The best Wr’s in the league can’t do **** if the O line can’t keep the Qb off the ground, block, make holes, and snap without fumbling. I’ll take that pick all day. He will be very solid as a backup when something happens to Armstead. They can shuffle Easton and plug him right in. I’m happy.

Wide Receivers and Running Backs are only as valuable as their fit into a system, and most don't have a long shelf life anyhow; they're maybe four, five exceptions at any given time during a giving era/decade...

Most are actually plug and play, now - it really is about the coaching, staff, scouting, GM...

I think Easton kind of takes on the old Senio Kelemete 6th man role now.
