Sorry but I don't agree with these PFF guys. They also said Davenport was not impactful (they compare a safety to a DE)in 2018. Marcus was coming into his own before the injury. IIRC, he had better PFF stats than all DE rookies and a lot of proven vets.
Dude was an exceptional run defender, setting the edge (Deuce has been preaching this for years up until Marcus arrived) & rushing the passer. These guys are too involved with metrics, highlights and not watching actual games. MD is a damn beast. I liked the pick then, and I still like it a year later. We could have a Cam Jordan/Julius Peppers type impact player on our hands for the next decade. |
