Joe Horn started 2 games in 4 seasons with the Chiefs... who knew he was going to pan out as a number #1 receiver for us. With 53 career catches prior to his signing... no one would have imagined he would have been such a star for us. He got an oppurtunity and capitalized on it. Stallworth hasn't had that oppurtunity nor will not need to as long as Joe is here allowing him to continue to develop into that guy.
At this stage in Stallworth's career (3 seasons), he's already surpassed was Joe did in KC. Joe didn't develop until season 5... the year we signed him. Judging by the way he's been improving every season, he certainly has the ability. If we didn't believe he could be a number one guy, we wouldn't have drafted him so high in the first round. Give it some time... I believe you are the only always saying it takes years before young receivers develop fully. He's still only 25. He had 58 catches and almost 800 yards starting only 10 games last year, a number which he definately can and probably will improve on in his 4th year. An injury-free year and improved hands will definately allow him to open eyes around the league this year. |
