Meredith was never really in. Got paid like he was in. Swing and a miss.

Went back and looked at some of the Matthews highlights ...
Good size (6'0/215 lbs), has deceptive speed, runs precise routes and has very good hands. Even though he's far from a burner, there is the ability to separate from the defender. Under the radar type signing despite not having consistent QB play over the years. As I stated in another post (Jared Cook) ... these guys now have a legit QB throwing them the ball & in the right scheme we could be solid in the receiving dept. Good scouting & subsequent signing on Matthews. He could be that guy we were hoping for in Dez & Brandon Marshall last season. If Cameron Meredith doesn't bring his A game at camp, he could lose his roster spot to a proven vet in Rishard. |

Great Rosters only will take you so far. Is how well they mesh that counts. Payton has done a good job instilling a good locker room culture. Hope it stays that way. We got 3 good vets in FA but I hope it doesn’t turn into a pissing match about who gets how many touched/targets.

Suspect we'll see much of the bottom of the roster 'churned' this Training camp...
