Re: Teddy Bridgewater or Taysom Hill?
I love watching Hill play. I think he's crazy. That being said, I'm willing to be patient and see how TB does with a week of preparation and first team reps. Maybe he'll be well worth the backup money he was paid. He has a lot to play for. If he comes in and does well, he'll get signed to a large contract for a team to be the starter in the off season.
If he comes out flat and lays an egg, let Hill get in there and see what he can do. |

Taysom - he provides a spark and the offense feeds off his energy.
I hated bridgewaters demeanor, he looked defeated and constantly throwing off his back foot. |

He could have easily scampered to first downs on the sideline. On one third down, he done it already before when I mentioned it to my krewe, they finally came around and said he definitely hesitated and now defenses know it and will scheme accordingly... Bridgewater is still playing fearful of injury. I can empathize with him, but you can't play scared and be successful in the NFL, Not for Long... |
It's not that my way is the right way, I just make the right way my way...

Re: Teddy Bridgewater or Taysom Hill?
There are way too many holes in Teddy's game for him to be considered legit NFL starter. No pocket presence whatsoever, slow reads, doesn't throw with anticipation, throwing mechanics, awful body language. This guy lacks natural leadership. Last night it was obvious that saints players don't believe in this guy. Focus on some stars on Saints offense last night. Completely different behavior on the field from what we are used to. After some catches Michael Thomas was like Colston 2.0 which is definitely not him. No emotion, no flexing muscles...
Hill is exact opposite. Hill is not great passer but he is quick decision maker, going through his reads much faster than Teddy, smart player, great runner and most importantly he brings that spark in our offense. Dude is a natural born leader. He will make some mistakes on the filed but I'd rather watch that than anemic offense with mister checkdown under center. In the NFL starters get hurt and their backups more often than not make some very nice plays on the field. Just look at that Minshew guy from Jacksonville. And he is not paid 7+ millions... |

Re: Teddy Bridgewater or Taysom Hill?
This reminds me of McCown vs Panthers. Drew gets hurt, McCown plays next week against at the time great Panthers defense. Almost wins the game. Seahawks are not that great on defense but solid test nonetheless.

Re: Teddy Bridgewater or Taysom Hill?
Rather amazingly, the defense held on, and kept us hanging by a fingernail in that game, until a certain point early in the 4th when the defense's back was finally broken, and they just couldn't keep up any longer. But even at a score of 20-9, if somewhere during that early window of time, if ANYWHERE in the first 3 quarters, if Teddy had shown up and made 3, 4, maybe 5 decent or clutch plays, that game could have had a much different tone and it could have been close right up to the very end.
For all the griping about the Saints defense (and there is much to gripe about) they STILL kept the Saints in the game, for most of the game, against a team that was in the Super Bowl last year. But Teddy running with the offensive 1's, produced almost nothing noteworthy to write home about. That was very dispiriting and disheartening to watch. |

Re: Teddy Bridgewater or Taysom Hill?
I voted for Hill. Look for Thomas. Look for Kamara. Look for Cook. Run Taysom Run! I truly believe he's absolutely ready. But, it won't happen. Bridgewater will start. I understand it. He can win. I fear he has to be perfect to do so though. Tough ask. Hill on the other hand brings an x factor. An athletic QB is almost impossible to defense. And he's just a tough, positive cat that I feel the team would rally around.
