Two pt conversion, Carr was open in the endzone, Teddy hastily pulls it down and runs tentatively till he's stopped... Several times there were opportunities for back-shoulder throws and Teddy is just not taking those throws. From the one foot line at the goal, he held the ball down at this waist instead of quickly extending it over the goal line... Most of the first half the offense was sluggish getting in, out of the huddle and the team didn't look like they were on the snap count... In the first half, before the scoring screen pass by Kamara, Bridgewater completed only one pass over 10 yards, a 14 yd completion to M. Thomas... On the day, Bridgewater was 19 of 27 for 177 PaYds, that total PaYds includes a 29 PaYd PaTD on a screen pass (again short att) to Kamara who made a tremendous run to get the score... That's less than ten yards a completion, that's not gonna get it. Rookies are playing better than that and they don't have AK or Can'tGuardMike... Look, I was thrilled with the win, ask my krewe who was with me today - but without the Saints DST scoring 13 pts, we lose 27-20... No, Bridgewater isn't getting it done, he must play better against conference rival, playoff implications game vs Dallas... |
It's not that my way is the right way, I just make the right way my way...

Re: Observations from Saints' win over Seahawks
This really wasn't the same Seahawks team. That said it's still very hard to win in Seattle. Their offense was kind of a mess and playcall was sketchy at times. Their Coaching decisions and risks they took were at times illogical. Maybe luck has run out on Pete Carroll?
That said, I was impressed with the Saints team effort. Every squad scored - offense, defense, special teams. We made adjustments in-game, tuned the offense to play to Bridgewater's strengths and I think the Seahawk's and their fans were probably stunned. Although the penalties still happened, I felt we played a very methodical game and got the most out of players. When players failed to perform, we stopped relying on them. |

Keeping it real, only way this is better if he's sporting the Gordon Minshew 70s look...
AK did it all today - great performance, great attitude... |

Re: Observations from Saints' win over Seahawks
For those feeling lackluster about Teddy, we almost certainly had to play it close to the vest, considering the early lead, the crowd and the wet weather. Next week when we are home and it's dry, we will then look to be more assertive with Teddy throwing. Very well-coached game today - in fact, we outcoached Carroll today especially considering their bad time/score management. But I guess if I had a nose that needed to be stitched I might not be coaching perfectly either LOL.

Re: Observations from Saints' win over Seahawks
Yeah what's with the hate on Teddy? The guy did what he needed to do and did enough to get the W. He played smart and a bit conservative. I'm with a couple other posters who believe that he'll just get better and more confident.
This game was not nearly as close as the scoreboard. Defense did great. They harrassed Wilson all game long. Most other QBs in the NFL would've been dropped multiple times and probably thrown at least a pick or 2 with that pressure. Secondary was a little loose at times but played good enough to win. This team will continue to improve. |
