Re: 2019 New Orleans Saints: Trade Deadline
I'm not promising anything but listen to the logic.
I believe SP is trying to get AJ Green, he is a proven beast. https://www.cincinnati.com/story/spo...bs/2493043001/ 1. Patriots already tried a deal, but it was too high. BB looking back to get a guy like Moss again, but the price was too high, but this shows BB knows he's a threat. 2. Green and Thomas on the field would kill the blitz and open up Hill and others for Brees. so SP might be willing to trade an OL Bengals need 3. Green is a 7 pro-bowler that hasn't lost a step on a crapy team with average QB's, much like sanders with lions. What will he do with a good QB? 4. Green is a Red Zone target, even if he loses a step he has a freakish jump and long arms. More TD's than Thomas for this reason. IF he is double-teamed it opes up others for brees. 5. Green would want the trade to a real team 6. Green and Thomas open up the run game for Kamara because they cant play close. 7. Green probably has 2-4 more years in him and Brees needs a big target, has about the same amount of time and is exactly what BB did with Patriots trade for Moss. Green if nothing opens up Thomas and others. 8. And the biggest one -SP can not allow AJ Green to be traded to Greenbay or 49'ers. GB Rogers can not be allowed to have a target like Green, and 49ers would be hard to beat with Green on their roster. 9. you can add Bridgewater to the rebuilding Bengals trade because they need a QB and his contract ends in March. Bengals might see a 5-0 winning QB as a future. The future of NO is T. Hill. So we don't lose a #1 draft pick For this reason, I think it's just a chess move. You can not allow GB or SF to get AJ Green or we might lose in the playoffs. So you take him off the table for the teams we will play in the playoffs and hope he works out. I'm sure SP is thinking also " Jesus can you imagine Rogers or SF with AJ Green ?" Who is going to cover him and that allow them the run and others to get open. Sometimes you are not trading just for guys, sometimes you trade so your rivals don't get guys, and its worth the draft pick. For this reason, I think SP is trying to get Green, just to get him off the table. I would not be surprised if NO and GB were in a bidding war. Rogers needs an AJ Green bad. |
Saints proved that pigs could fly in 2009.
Now its time for another miracle SuperBowl and go where no pig has gone before. Last edited by pherein; 10-29-2019 at 07:47 AM.. |

Re: 2019 New Orleans Saints: Trade Deadline
Bengals are 0-8, not going anywhere no time soon. They need as many future draft picks as possible.
Why waste someone's (AJ Green) career who is still in their prime? He walks next year and they get nothing. Give that man an opportunity to win. The Cincy Bengaloos is a joke of a franchise. |

Re: 2019 New Orleans Saints: Trade Deadline
I'm not defending the Bengals, who are a dumpster fire, BUT,
teams are pissed that they can't just poach the Bengals best players? Don't know about the other players, but Green has said he does not want to be traded |
