Am of the belief that Trey would be more a Lawrence Taylor/Pat Swilling/Von Miller 3-4 OLB/DE and that Trey's playing too heavy for him personally, even though he's finally at the right weight for that position... DEFENSE LDE (3) 93 - David Onyemata (FA 2020), 98 - Sheldon Rankins, 97 - Malcolm Roach (UDFA 2020) NT (2) 90 - Malcolm Brown, 99 - Shy Tuttle RDE (2) 94 - Cam Jordan, 92 - Marcus Davenport *LP, 95 - Margus Hunt (FA 2020), 69 - Anthony Zettel (PS 2020) JACK (3) 91 - Trey Hendrickson, 96 - Carl Granderson WILL (1) 47 - Alex Anzalone, Kiko Alonso (FA 2020), 46 - Joe Bachie (PS 2020) MIKE (2) 56 - DeMario Davis, 52 - Craig Robertson, 59 - Marcus Willoughby (PS 2020) SAM (2) 53 - Zach Baun (R3P10, #74), 55 - Kaden Elliss, 50 - Andrew Dowell (PS 2020) There are some obvious poor fits like Rankins and Davenport; but Rankins is likely not returning; and Davenport has yet to play a full season and his extension will be upon us the following season... But the reality is we actually have LBers better suited to the 3-4 front on the roster (e.g. Baun, Anzalone, Alonso, Elliss, Bachie, and Hendrickson) with Davis versatile enough to play both fronts... Also, Onyemata would be an outstanding 3-4 DE as would Cam Jordan, who's showing signs of slowing down but can still disrupt an offense's plans... *Note: This is of course if we actually were keeping Anzalone and Hendrickson who's contracts are set to expire and Payton finally had the 3-4 front he's always wanted... |
