Saints are in the market for a DE. Who’s a good option to trade for? Maybe Ryan Kerrigan?

And don’t say nah let’s just roll with Hendrickson.

You do realize Kerrigan has a $11.6 million cap hit, right? The Saints currently have $6.8 million of cap space and that is after a number of restructures.

Edit: Never mind, I misunderstood what you said. With it being a trade we can’t finesse the money the same way we can a free agent signing.

Being overly cautious was the name of the game here. It’s not unheard of to aggravate that injury and create a major issue where only a minor nuisance existed. He’s an on-the-field leader, he refuses to fail. Kamara and him are two of my favorite Saints in a long, long time.

Yup. That's the issue with trades. Clay Matthews is out there, but as Charlie Wies and Bob Papa pointed out a few minutes ago on NFL Radio, Matthews is basically done. Or as they said "no gas left in the tank". Looks like rolling with Granderson, Hendrickson and Davenport along with Cam is where we stand.

I don’t know if we’re content to roll with what we have. I’m hearing whispers from far corners of the Saints universe saying we’re in the market for an edge rusher. Judging by our pursuit of Clowney I don’t think coach is done looking to upgrade that RE spot.

The league already shot down a sign and trade offered up by the Saints this year. And that was on a player that wanted to come to the Saints. Washington isn't in an ideal position to try that deal, themselves.

That said, if anyone can juggle the books to do it his name would be Loomis.
