37-11 during the regular season, but 2-3 when the games actually matter.

Three seasons, Three failures on an epic level, including going 13-3 and losing in a wild card game.

That being said, I also think the Saints are a better team, “top to bottom” than the last three years of playoff failures have proven. The Saints are going to need those players to take success to the next level. Problem with the mindset of going “all in” is that if you don’t actually win the entire enchilada, then the entire year is a waste.

If you never go "all in" you may never even get close to a side of beans and rice, however. In that case you have decades of wasted years.

There is a ton of luck involved in winning a Super Bowl. Only one team can do it every year and it takes plenty of lucky bounces.

I think the playoff loses are more on Payton’s questionable gameplan, halftime adjustments and god awful clock management than Drew. And to be honest Zimmer just has Payton’s ass. He’s too cute and stubborn.

Agreed, a million percent. In all truthiness, everybody has a difference of opinion on why the last three years ended the way they did. None are dogmatically right, none are dogmatically wrong either. Just differences of how we see things.

When it comes to Payton, I’ve taken the “live by the sword, you die...” attitude. He gets too “fancy” and “gadgety” in quite a few situations. It worked in 2009, but look at his postseason record since the SuperBowl year. We haven’t been above .500 in any of those years..., I’ll remind you, that’s a decade of futility.

I agree and I’ll go even further with Payton. The years when Drew was in his prime it was pissed away by bad defenses, bad signings, and bad drafting all of which Payton has control of. Loomis is just the bean counter. Thank god for Ireland helping quell Sean with the *****y drafting or we’d really be up sh*t creek. Now I’m not giving Drew a pass but it’s at least 75% Sean’s fault.

See the above reply. Who do you want to do better. Who else has ever even made us relevant? We are spoiled. We could be Detroit if you want? Or the Chargers?

As I said ... the grass is always greener ....

And who could we do better with leading the Saints? Do you honesty believe after 40+ years of total failure that Payton is a failure now? How many other teams never even made it to the post season ever those years? Name every team other than the Patriots that had over a .500 post season record over that time.

Grass is always greener .......
