How many ride until the wheels fall off. That would be 90%. Going off that he won't.

Just because you can throw a football 60 yards doesn't mean you're better.
See Jamarcus Russel as the perfect example. 30 and 30 are good stats if you're a baseball player, not a starting QB.
Winston is here because he was cheap and has starter experience in case the worse happens again. He isn't the future.

Agreed, But personally, I’m comparing this DB#9 to ten years ago DB#9. And the debate doesn’t seem to be whether this DB#9 is better than Russell, or anybody else..., it’s very simply if this DB#9 has enough left in the tank to run an extremely potent and high powered offense. If the answer is that he can’t, to a championship level, then it may very well be time to discuss life without the quadragenarian.

Jameis Winston is a far better QB than you’re giving him credit for.

He definitely has the talent to be a very successful NFL QB. I would like to see him get some time to prove it, on the field, in this system with our players. Entire series’s, not QB by committee and not “gadgety” plays.

I don't think he will retire yet. Look at Tom Brady, he is still going at 43 yrs. Now the question is, will this be TB last year?

He's even more talented than most all of critics give him credit for. The issue ins't talent - it's consistency.

He came from an organization that lacked consistency in the front office. I think you’ll see a better product now that he’s with an organization that has direction and continuity.

IF he ever gets the opportunity to get on the field. As long as he remains third on the depth chart he won't get any playing time. It would take an injury for that to occur and I doubt think any of us want to see that.

I think a bigger factor is maturity. And I get it. He was BMOC everywhere he went from high school through Tampa Bay so he could get away with behaving like a child. I have seen some indicators that would suggest that he's maturing. Making $1 million as a back up QB convinced me that he knew that the Saints were a solid organization and learning from one of the best QB's to ever play the game would only strengthen his chances to make another huge payday in the near future as a starter for an NFL team.

I'm fairly certain that he would start over Hill if he comes back next year and Brees retires.

If/When the game is 31-3, going in to the 4th quarter, or anytime Coach feels the game is solidly in hand, then pull DB#9, let the guy who actually needs the snaps run a full quarter, two or three series in a row.
