Re: USA Today Saints Wire | Saints vs. Bears recap: Everything We Know After Overtime Victory
I can grust none of yall opinion on Marcus Williams because yall are the same ones that said Roman Harper was better than Malcolm Jenkins and we see how their respective careers turned out when they left. We havent a consistent DB here since Jabari Greer. Its scheme and coaching im telling you. DA doesnt play to his players strength we run press man coverage ALL DAY and our corners gove up a big play everytime in that coverage. At what point do you adjust for the players to be able to make plays?

Re: USA Today Saints Wire | Saints vs. Bears recap: Everything We Know After Overtime Victory
I still don’t understand why we’re sitting here talking about defense. We shouldn’t be looking for the defense to be the strength of a team with an offensive minded coach. I expect the offense to perform the way they’re supposed to.
I expect a HOF QB to put up points like one. I expect us to get 6 points when we get into the redzone regardless who the defense is. I expect a “HOF” coach to call better plays. Playcalling has been a problem week in and week out for years. I know...but look at the PPG and yards then right? Cool. Look at where I defense is ranked then. How many years did people say if we even had a middle of the pack defense we could win the Super Bowl? Now we gotta have the 2001 Super Bowl Champs defense for people to be satisfied. We give up big plays? Yeah. So does every other defense in the NFL. I was watching Harrison Smith give up plays in coverage right before the Saints game. **** happens. When we have a chance to score TD’s we need to score TD’s. Period. The New Orleans Saints should never get 3 and outted on offense. Not with all that hype surrounding Brees, Kamara, and Payton. |

Having Brees all these years, unfettered organization power, and only one SuperBowl title? I'm no longer on that bandwagon... |

At a high level when I look at the two squads yesterday I see an offense with multiple injuries listed not meeting expectations and a defense with zero injuries listed not meeting expectations. I also saw a HOF punter not spin the FU$%ing laces on a FG which is a huge WTF moment.... I think part of Paytons play calling is actually his methodology. He calls plays based on his gut and when you do that on a small level you become unpredictable, when you do that on a large scale you become extremely predictable because your gut responses tend to be consistently the same based on the same environmental influences if that makes sense... sort of like fight or flight instantly narrows possible actions. This is 2020, I am taking the whole year with a grain of salt.. |

Three things that need to happen with this team right now... Starts at the top with Payton turning play-calling over to Carmichael, at least for a while, to keep opponents from locking-in, especially those that set Taysom up to fail (not saying it's intentional)... Second, Dennis Allen needs to be fired, he's been just as horrible as Ryan, Spagnuolo were and a message of accountability needs to be sent to the players... Third, safety play has been atrocious with definite confusion with a number of missed assignments, and poor execution, especially tackling - we need a change there... Some have made the point that we can win with this Brad Johnson approach on offense; this is true, if we had a defense that could get off the field on third and long... |
It's not that my way is the right way, I just make the right way my way...

The only person however that will/can check Sean Payton is Mickey Loomis. Asking Sean Payton or any person for that matter to change their own behaviors is a fools errand. The perfect analogy for someone changing someone else's bad behaviors is my Dr. Phil Analogy.. He is a professional, 'catch me outside girl" is a child and he had absolutely zero effect on her, zip, nada, zilch ![]() There is an entire book by Marshall Goldsmith available that covers the Saints though it isn't about the Saints. It is titled "What got you here, won't get you there." Pair that with "Built to Last" by Jim Collins and you are prepared to address the Saints issues. I remember seeing defensive players comment in support of Rob Ryan, I have yet to see one supporting Dennis Alan which tells me the players aren't on board for some reason. Might be Dennis, might be his defensive planning, might be the summers social media debacle. Regardless of the reason they aren't interested in saving his job. As far as for the unicorn milk vs sh1t show points of view, our personalities drive those. Some are glass 1/2 full, some are glass 1/2 empty, I am a glass is at 50% v/v sort of guy. Which keeps me from being angry all the time as well as helping me avoid disappointment should the New Orleans Saints be... The New Orleans Saints. ![]() |

IF Your defense is focused money-wise. You have to have a shutdown defense to operate the check-down offense we have. And frankly when you’re dead last in the NFL in passing TD’s allowed... https://www.teamrankings.com/nfl/sta...downs-per-game ...you need to have an offense that can sling it also. Keep in mind that Chicago is #1 on that list. A very windy and cold day, in an opponents stadium, it could have ended up very differently. It was a good win Rez. It may not have passed the eye-test, but Chicago is a pretty darn good defense. |
