Well, depending on how far you want to go down the rabbit hole, there are many variables to consider about the impact. Think about this...In a way you can compare it to the drafting of Reggie Bush.

I’ve always felt the Saints don’t win the Super Bowl without him...and it’s not because of his talent. Coming from a southern CA school, Heisman, dating a Kardashian etc. all gave the national media a reason to pay attention and pull for the Saints. He was impactful because of the social times.

Now think about that angel from Signing Jenkins. Could his signing not be looked at the same way ? Just a thought here because you wanted a lively debate.

MJ is finally getting into a rhythm and playing faster. Kwon alexander came in about the time the whole defense took it to the next level. When he makes a good play I'm excited but the rest of the time he is a disappointment to me for both his poor play and disrespecting Drew like he did.

Edit: I have a tendency to hold a grudge against douche bags!

It's a good thing that Brees is above that pettiness.

:D ;)

Not that Dew has ever ever been about the money, but for twenty plus million dollars, I could but up with a pretty big douchebag for one year! 🤣

I didn't necessarily want to focus on the stupidity of Malcolm Jenkins' comments in this thread but what he and other players did to Brees is way beyond petty.

I have had people piss me off over more than that and yet forgave and still remained friends. If I, who many some here consider to be flawed, can forgive and forget then why could not Brees? Petty is just that ... petty.

If you cannot get over petty then the problem is yours, not there's.

Think on that a bit.

Okay, I thought about it and it's stupid.

Brees' teammates (not just coworkers...guys that hit and are hit for each other as a team) sold him out through social media rather than have a discussion with the man himself. They announced to thousands, if not millions, that Brees is an ignorant racist.

After all Brees did for the Saints and the whole region you consider this to be petty?

Okay.

Yes, petty. You take it as an assault on you. Brees doesn't give a flying **** because he knows it is meaningless in the greater scheme of things. You hang onto it because you are petty. Grow up. You are like a spoiled child.

If he doesn't care why should you? Maybe because you are a screaming racist yourself? How dare those darkies dis a white man? Is that it?

If not explain why it is so important to you.

Ice, I liked your comment because you stated why Malcolm and others were so hurt. Malcolm shed tears, real tears because he was hurt. He wasn’t faking it when he sat in front of that camera crying. He made those comments because he had love and still does have love for Drew. Drew’s not just some other guy. Malcolm was just thrown back because he couldn’t understand why a guy he considered a brother and a friend would make insensitive comments regarding the topic. And Drew didn’t have to make any statements or apologies. But he did because at that moment Drew realized that people like Jenkins were speaking out for the injustices of HUMAN beings.
The one thing I can’t understand is why others can’t come around like Drew.
Come on guys, we’re talking about human beings here and not some dead animal on side of the road.

Perhaps because some people are unable to see others as human beings and perhaps as something less?
