I knew that the off field stuff would come in to play in this thread. I honestly wanted to get people's opinion on his play since it may be that he's a big reason that the defense is playing so well.

Debating isn't instigating. It shouldn't warrant being shot. People who disagree shouldn't be labeled "racists" or "nazis". Those are all ways small-minded people react.

It isn’t the debate. It’s the keeping it going when the individuals involved say it’s over. I don’t utilize the term racist because I recognize racism to be a system. Bigoted or prejudiced is typically more applicable in those cases, but I don’t really care enough about the individual battles to utilize the verbiage on the forum.

I won’t lie to you and act like I don’t get those vibes from a lot posters, but I’ve dealt with those kind of personalities my entire life. I’m numb to it. You’ve always been respectful though. It would be intellectually dishonest on my part not to acknowledge that.

My apologies for high jacking the thread. I believe that I was the first person to mention that Jenkins did not go to Drew. Instead he went on social media and put public undue pressure on Drew. Before he ever talked to Drew the world was mad at him. Drew took it well but I didn't.

Back on topic MJ has improved his game since Kwon came on board. He's a good chess piece for DA. I just hope can keep it up.

I think it’s the combination of him and Davis. That’s a lot of experience and knowledge at the 2nd and 3rd levels of the defense. Somebody should see if they can find out how often Jenkins lines up on the 2nd level.

That's why I respect you so much, Rugs.

I'm respectful because I respect you Rez. Your background, your experience, your opinion. All things I don't have but they make me a more well rounded person.

At the end of the day what was made of Brees's comments struck me the wrong way. Not because I know Drew personally but I like to believe his intention was pure.

I also understand Malcolm's perspective - the work he's done, the issues, the frustration he must feel seeing the opportunity is right there yet a slide back to status quo is inevitable.

I typically stay away from political banter because today's age it's a no-win proposal. But sometimes I just get aggravated by people's refusal to be more understanding.

It’s all easy to say something like “the players have put it behind them, so let go”. But look at the fight that happened at the Florida HS football game this weekend that was basically started by differences of opinions about respecting the flag and kneeling for it. It’s hard to “let go” for some when it is seemingly shoved down the throat by sports figures all the time on social media. Some are sick of athletes like LeBron James making statements about inequity from their Ivory Towers. Frequently those shouting “Let it go!” are the people that got it the way they wanted.

Sounds like that may have been influenced by parents teaching their children through their own behavior to be intolerant.

Sad.

I think Boston made a solid point. Yes it may have come from parents but it also comes from other influences such as sports figures, politicians, media and yes, online message boards.
