Big time.

IMO he cost us a trip from going back to the SB :disgust:

People keep saying that Davenport has not contributed this season. He was out the first couple of weeks and the D looked questionable. Once he returned we’ve been lights out. He’s out one game and the pressure wasn’t the same yesterday. He’s contributing in a huge way. But it doesn’t always show on the stat sheet.

Could not happen to a more deserving individual ... hopefully he has run his course in the NFL. :biggun:

Don't flame me here, but when Brees comes back I'm not going to enjoy the dink and dunk passing attack we'll invariably fall back to.

Taysom has his issues, but he has an absolute cannon for an arm. He was making third down conversions that Drew wouldn't be able to.

Yes he does. The ball is HUMMING when he releases it.

I thought it was impressive that Taysom/coach went back to Cook AND 3quan after they were initially dropping routine catches.

But Hill must work on the fumbles. If not corrected, it will cost you a game.

I enjoy reading the game day thread after the game is over. I get to enjoy all the moments again without the fear and dread that I get during the game from being a Saints fan for over 40 years.

The Falcons dissed the Saints by putting "VISITOR" instead of "SAINTS" on their scoreboard prior to the game. The Saints got them back after doctoring their tweet. Note the time on the clock, as well.

:roflmao:

Any updates on Malcolm Brown ? He left the game but I hadn't heard anything since. Hope it's nothing serious.

That dink and dunk is what gets Kamara involved in the game. It is a part of the game that Taysom has difficulty executing. His touch is very questionable at best. That game may not be as exciting, but controls the clock and gets more players involved in the offense.

Ummm Guido. Are you seriously rationalizing dink and dunk as though it has some hidden value?

Sean Payton grabbed a sharpie, stood at the board, then proceeded to drive a collaborative effort to get the dink and dunk going? Not defense, but rather short passes under the sticks are what wins championships?

Sorry brother, that’s what you are trying to sell lol.

Both QBs create unique but different challenges for defenses.

Brees doesn't only "dink and dunk". I was addressing the supposition that "dink and dunk" is all Brees can provide. I was saying that Brees can control the clock by hitting multiple receivers as well as anyone in history and that is something that Hill has struggled with. And, yes, spreading it around, using the pass as an extension of the run while mixing in the run is a winning formula.

And where did I say defense isn't vital? Can't find that anywhere.

And like clockwork the big plays and penalties reared their ugly heads in the secondary. Dudes a beast. It’s not a coincidence that our secondary started playing lights out when he came back.

Agree K. The fumbles are ridiculous. And maddening. But regardless of anything, he's fun to watch. He definitely has a rifle. But he can also take off for a 50 yard scramble or bowl over a LB.

Love me some Drew. But man Taysom is just fun to watch. Would love for him to polish his skills and learn to protect that ball. If he does...he really could be something special.

Or maybe he's just a good backup. Lol. **** man...who knows?

That is some extremely heavy rationalization supported by vagueness and your opinion. The stats do not show Drew's clear dominance in the areas you have mentioned, if anything there is no clear leader, if I removed the names and titled these QB A/B preseason stats you wouldn't be so unicorn milk over one of them.

Hill throws for longer completions and has a 10% higher conversion rate.

Season
Completion%
%71.6 Hill
%73.5 - Brees

Three game averages for both QBs
Touchdown Average Passing or rushing
6- Hill (4 rushing/2 passing)
7- Brees (7 passing)

Average Completed Air yards
6.6 Hill
4.9 Brees

Ave 1st downs
22 - Hill
22.3 - Brees

Drives ending without a score
7 - Hill
5.66 - Brees

Offensive 3rd down conversion rate
%44.19 Top 9 in the league - Last 3 games (Hill)
%33.33 Six lowest conversion rate in the league - Previous 3 games (Brees)

I wont answer your last question, you are just being silly. You can ride your painted pony but it doesn't make the Ferris wheel spin.

I never said Drew Brees was bad but a stats comparison vs going with the hot hand is not as clear for most as it is for you.

Saints vs Atlanta fun fact :

Saints haven't allowed a Julio Jones TD catch since the 2016 season finale.

Don't forget that Hill also faced the league's 26th ranked defense (Falcons) two of the three games. And a team with no QB in the other.

Brees had five games against top 11 defenses in the NFL (Tampa Bay - twice, Packers, Chargers, 49er's) in his nine starts. Most of Brees' season also came without the luxury of having Michael Thomas. Two of those games he was also missing Emmanuel Sanders.

Taysom has done a commendable job, but I doubt any coach out there would consider using him as a starter when you have Brees available.

Taysom is a weapon no matter what position he plays, he’s going to be a weapon for at least 2 or more years
