I read the same story each of the past two years. Brees has repeated that he isn't even going to START considering playing or not until the season is completely over.

Oh, by the way, Payton has left to be the Dallas coach every year, too.

It's great clickbait, but seriously, Drew has 1 more year on his contract.
Until he says it, it's difficult to believe.

Great way to drum up TV ratings for Week 17 etc. though.

Re: Drew’s Final Regular Season Game?

Both Hill and Winston could use another year under Sean and Brees. I do agree it looks like his body is just wearing out. We take TD throws like the one to Cook yesterday for granted. Very few QBs can do that consistently. I hope we win it all this year and he retires. He can come back for a big send off without pads. But, there is also nothing saying he couldn't play another season without missing time due to injury. Thomas Davis is a prime example of this.

I'm biased here but when Brees is in rhythm he's surgical.

His 2 minute offense is still ELITE. Probably only one other QB on the planet who can methodically move an offense down the field like that. The great ones make it look easy.

Whenever it ends, the ride has been awesome.

Agree. Brees is still one of the best QBs in the game. I suspect the majority of NFL head coaches would give a first round pick and their left nut to have Brees behind center in 2021. We're spoiled by having had a GOAT in his prime. He may no longer be in his prime, but is he better than the alternative. That is the question.

I believe that Austin Carr is now relevant. I knew we kept him around for a reason. Sean is a genius!

I would gladly and proudly welcome back brees for an encore season. Why wouldn’t we really guys and gals. We’d be in the mix again at the end. Just rest him more with a dose of tysom to boot what does this org. Have to lose. I’m still debating Winston Salem, a training camp gives us a better feel what payton can do for him, y’all don’t want to see him

Exactly, This^^.

Can anybody guess the difference between any previous 6-10 season and not being in the playoffs, to the 13-3 NFC South championship team from last year?

Absolutely nothing.

DB#9 has led this team to multiple losing record seasons, 5 to be exact, along with one .500 season, since 2006. His conference championship record is a paltry 1-2, and a very good argument can be made that the 2009 NFC championship game should have been a loss. iirc (I was at that game, first year of season tickets), Minn fumbled the ball 6 times, losing three of those fumbles, along with throwing two interceptions. The fact that we, the home team, needed overtime to win that game isn’t exactly a positive in my book.

The idea that the Saints are a 6 win team, at best, without DB#9 makes little sense. And it devalues every other player who is busting their chops week in/week out. This is a very good team, when healthy, even with DB#9 on the sidelines.
