Re: New Orleans Saints Better Off Not Signing Nnamdi Asomugha

I stopped reading after the second paragraph. It was more than enough to see that this is an extremely insulting article.

First off, what's with this crap about us being one of the fan bases who wants a quick fix? What the hell does this guy know about our fans? EVERY single fan base has people who want a quick fix, and we are absolutely no exception. But to suggest that ALL of us want a quick fix is absurd. The vast majority of us are well informed and are painfully aware of our cap situation, and the fact that we can't just splurge.

Secondly, most of us are not infatuated with just names. I, for one, know the difference between a washed up old star, and a veteran who has quality football left in him at a reasonable price. I don't want Nnamdi because I recognize his name. I want him because he was great not that long ago, and I find it hard to believe that he just forgot how to play football at the age of 31.

And why does this guy think Asomugha has a hefty asking price? Has he spoken to him personally? I've read a lot of articles about Nnamdi in recent days, and I have yet to see any salary figures thrown around.

Lastly, how can Nnamdi possibly make us worse? As I've said, I believe he has good years left, and could possibly be elite again. But given how bad our secondary was, how could Asomugha, of all people, make us worse?

That's four degrees of stupidity... In two paragraphs.

Probably in the same neighborhood as Ed Reed! Time to move on and save some dough.

I agree with what is said too. Investing 5 million a year for three corners seem to be too much when we switching to 3 /4 without a PROVEN pass rusher. I trust whatever loomis and sp approve cuz they prove me wrong before. Go SAINTS

How many millions are we devoting to the running game? I want Nnamdi! Make it happen Loomis

I guarantee if we get him if won't be 5 million the first 2 years. More along the lines of a 5 million signing bonus and 2 mill a year

The one thing that does concern me is that while it may work for one season, Namdi could fall off the next. I actually don't think teams took time to break down offseason game film on him when he was with the raiders and that was because he played for the raiders. They were beatable by any average or better team.
