But hey, if you’re really curious I can show you exactly what it is. We can do a nationwide case study.

Your rhetoric in this thread is all that matters right now. Nobody says there's no racism. A handful of black people believe however that only whites are guilty of it.

Racism is in your mirror - and you're so indoctrinated you will never see it, because it's as black as it is white. What a waste.

Growing up in Mississippi you’d think I’d be indoctrinated into Conservatism. I most certainly have never become privy to that way of thinking on a day to day basis. It’s like, they never spoke when I was around or something. Never told me their views on life. Just left me in the dark. Ain’t that some ****?

Why would growing up in Mississippi indoctrinate you into anything? Or are you saying that because you grew up around it (isn't that day to day) you should have been but weren't because you're black and they (whitey) shut you out?

Condoleezza Rice must have had access to some spy equipment over in Alabama you couldn't get in Mississippi?

Maybe it was your attitude, and not theirs (collectively) that was/is your problem?

Never mind. Let's just blame the white folk...

I was just so unfortunate to never hear the thoughts and opinions of White people in 28 years of life. Or maybe I heard it and just didn’t comprehend it. Being in gifted classes I was the only Black kid most of the time but my comprehension level just wasn’t high enough to understand they’re superior points of view. This is my first time EVER debating a predominantly White audience whose views are diametrically opposed to mine. Uncharted territory. I don’t know what to do. That predominantly, White/Conservative football team I played for never sounded like you guys.

You do know that Wakanda was dreamed up by a (non-black) man?

Man I don't know what happened to you in your younger years, but on behalf of all white people I am sorry. We jacked you up something fierce huh?

And now you want some land to make you feel better. I'm so sorry that isn't going to happen.

I'm guessing that, since this is your first time that you don't mind it when people whom you feel don't have a clue about how you feel call you a racist?

Welcome to the club.

Glad we found some common ground today. How merciful of you to apologize to me. I’m so gracious. That’s all I needed. I’ve changed now.

I'd like to think we did. You don't think we have a clue when we call you a racist. We feel similarly when "y'all" call "us" racist.

But then again, I'm white. Between you and I there can be no common ground, right?

Sad.

You can go through all 10 pages of the thread and quote when I told you that...and then we can talk about how wrong I was when I said it.

Never said there was no common ground.

Oh you'd never actually say that anymore than you'd admit your views are overtly racist. Can a man who desires the destruction of the American political system specifically because white people built it actually have common ground with a white person?

No matter, it was my "You don't think we have a clue when we call you a racist. We feel similarly when "y'all" call "us" racist." statements that I was hoping you'd focus on. Maybe you overlooked them deliberately.

All people have common ground. Doesn’t mean I should overlook everything else simply because we both love the Saints. Like I said, I been on here for 5 years watching y’all go in on topics like this. Don’t act like I didn’t try to meet y’all in the middle. The last time I talked I told you I was done. I wasn’t playing.

I see the point you want to make everytime you post it. Reading comprehension isn’t a problem for me like it is for the rest of my community. You find it profound? You think it was something new to me? You think I’ve never met you a million times over? That’s the point I was hoping YOU would latch on to. You say I’m nothing new to you, likewise.

I’ve be showing this entire thread to a girl I went to school with. She’s finishing up her Doctorate in Psychology and specializes in racial issues. White girl. Her and I, we found common ground.

AsylumGuido is cool too.

Comprehension? There's goes whitey assuming the black man can't comprehend.

Actually, no, it isn't comprehension I questioned. I think it's selective reading is what I think, or selective responding. It's a common tactic, particularly in a forum like this, and it has nothing to do with the color of one's skin.

I didn't find it profound. I found it ironic. Because in your mind your opinions of all white people are funded by history and therefore you can rightfully point that racism finger at all of us, even though you have no idea who we are or what shaped our opinions. And yet you're somehow offended with the volley is returned.

"We" don't know "you", but "you" know "us"? And this is accurate because you are black and your terrible experiences growing up in Mississippi preclude any other actual thing, even though other black people with similar or worse experiences don't feel as you? They're all just misguided uncle tom's who need to be "dealt with"?

Is that about right then?

I'm gonna jump back in the water for a moment to quickly address a couple of things. Rez, you talked about how God apparently ignores/doesn't care about black people. Allow me to point out that the Jews, who were his first chosen people have been enslaved numerous times in their history. They've also been hunted to the point of near extinction and didn't even have a land to call their own for a very long time. To this day, they are surrounded by people who hate them, want them dead and are actively seeking means to complete what Hitler couldn't. You, like a lot of folks, even a lot of Christians mistakenly believe that following God means life is gonna be great. Just sunshine and rainbows everyday. Even though the bible clearly says that that isn't the case. It talks about it being the narrow way that few will find, it talks about having to take up your cross daily, about having to be patient and long suffering. Yes, black people went through some terrible times in more recent history, doesn't mean there isn't a God and that he doesn't love black people. This life is a very brief flicker in the scope of eternity. And while I don't doubt that it hurts His heart to see anyone suffer in this life, his main concern lies in what happens to you after. Because whatever that ends up being for a person, its forever, without change. And let's be real here, if a person doesn't like the situation they're in, it's up to them to change it. Sometimes it takes a lot of work, but literally anyone can do it. I don't like the situation I'm in at all, and I've felt stuck and without a way to change it for a really long time, but I kept at it until something came along. Which brings me to something else I wanted to say. You've got this idea, much like your ideas about God, that being white automatically means that life is gonna be great. Let me give you a quick view into my life. I grew up one of five children. My parents struggled to give us the best life they could while also keeping a roof over our heads and food in our stomachs. They couldn't afford to send any of us to college, or buy us our first car, or anything of the sort. Fast forward to today, I am married and a father of 7 (yes, seven) kids. We struggle to pay our bills. We live month to month, week to week, sometimes day to day. In the past month alone I have befallen a number of financial hardships that have put me in a position of near desperation. There's no magic "yo it's cool, I'm white" button I can press to get my bills or my creditors off my back. Or to give me some easy path to financial stability. I've been working 2 jobs for years now and we still mostly just scrape by. I've tried to go to college twice now to get a degree so I can get a better job, had to drop out both times because I couldn't keep up with classes and homework and working enough to keep my bills paid. Being white hasn't helped me with any of that, and it won't. Now I'm gonna make it out, but only because I wouldn't give up until I found a way. So, working together with my wife, her going to school and getting a degree and getting a good job so that I can quit working and go to school so I can get a better job, we're gonna work our asses off and make our situation better. I know this is getting long and rambling, I guess what I'm trying to say is if there were some inherent white privilege I could've tapped into to bail me out I would've found it by now. Cause buddy, I've been looking for any way out of this for what seems like forever.

And yet you hold the collective responsible for individual instances, many of which are older than you are. You are, after all, anti-white? You are for the destruction of our system of Government because why? White people? You are more than willing to cast the entire state of Mississippi aside because of your individual instances/experiences?

And yet so many black people grow up in Mississippi without feeling as you do, and, because of this, according to you, they must be "dealt with"?

It just doesn't reconcile. I guess I could say, "that dog won't hunt", but that's probably a 'white' expression and, growing up in Mississippi you weren't allowed to hear it?

I prioritize Black people in the same fashion you claim to prioritize Americans. Whichever button produces the best result for The Diaspora is the button I’ll push. With White people being the hard working people they are, if it would be to their dismay socioeconomically I’m sure it’ll be no problem for them to pull themselves up by the bootstraps and pave a new way of life in the name of Jesus Christ. Manifest Destiny 2.0.

Mind you, I’d help people like you in my society.

Right. So I prioritize Americans. All colors. All races. Full stop.

You prioritize black people before all others.

And you call me the racist? You clearly have a preference for life that is determined by nothing more than the color of a man's skin?

Well Sir, just wow. I mean, as I've said, I know where you're coming from. I know Delaney and Du Bois. I know Charmichael. I know Che. I know Newton, and Seale, and King, and Malcolm. I have some level of respect for some of these men, but I know them in a context I genuinely believe you do not, and further I don't think you're interested, and that's too bad.

I wish there was a way to open your eyes to the racism inherent inside you. Looks like it's too late.

You claim to, but you don’t. You can say what you want, but to me, you don’t.

And I genuinely could care less if you realize it or not.

And tell me how it is that you know that I don't? Because I'm white?

It’s a combination of things. Ben Carson could be on the forums saying the same things. I’d say the same. All these questions trying to lead me to the answer you want me to give you are getting old now though.

I'm not leading you anywhere you aren't already standing. Remember your very own "you don't know me" comment a few pages back. You're an honest guy. I'm sure I don't have to find it and quote it.

See, you're awfully quick to point your finger at me or at the collective white population yet you disallow it in reverse. You speak of the Civil Rights movement as if you lived it. You did not. You, like me, are forced to rely on opinions, yet you are selective in your review. I have and continue to read all sides. Believe it or not that matters. Unless, of course, you can't stomach the whole picture.

You observe the color of a man's skin and you judge him. What's more is that you justify it because of nothing more than the color of your own skin.

I've had this precise discussion with a few people out here in Oakland. I like them. They like me. Their responses are word for word your responses. They even overuse the word "diaspora" just as you do.

Racism is racism is racism. Maybe your psych friend can help you with that.

Read on. I’ve met you time and time again as well, even down to the overusage and misusage of the words racism and racists. If you’re trying to convince somebody of something, convince yourself.

You have some serious issues on what is perceived as reality and what is your opinion.
