NFL preseason sees kneeling, raised fists, during national anthem
NFL players continued to protest during the national anthem on Thursday night as the league began the first full week of its 2018 preseason.
Some players held their fists in the air, while others decided to kneel, despite the controversy surrounding the action. Wide receivers Kenny Stills and Albert Wilson, both of the Miami Dolphins, knelt during "The Star-Spangled Banner," ahead of their game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the Miami Herald reported. Robert Quinn, a defensive end for the Dolphins, raised his fist. Philadelphia Eagles Malcolm Jenkins, who plays safety, and De'Vante Bausby, a cornerback, also raised their fists prior to a game against the Pittsburgh Steelers, according to the Philadelphia Inquirer. read more | |

Re: NFL preseason sees kneeling, raised fists, during national anthem
And I see cam Jordan has taken to twitter to pick a fight with Trump.
The NFL is going to go the way of the Dixie Chicks if this doesn't stop... Why does the protest have to be during the national anthem??? Kneel during the coin toss. Go to the 50 before/during/after halftime and kneel, raise your fists, or pull your pants down around your ankles. Lay flat on your backs during the 2 minute timeout. Or refuse to leave the field after the game until you've had a full fledged protest march. AGAIN WHY DOES YOUR PROTEST HAVE TO TAKE PLACE DURING THE ANTHEM.??? I know I'm small potatoes in the NFL budget but I will not buy merchandise, Sunday Ticket and will not attend any more live games while this continues. And I'm sure I'm not alone... |

I'm becoming more and more anti-NFL as more of these stories surface.
I'm even becoming less enthusiastic about my Saints. Thanks Cam. I'm just not a huge fan anymore. |

Kenny Stills:
https://www.google.com/amp/amp.miami...192552529.html Malcolm Jenkins: https://www.prnewswire.com/news-rele...300649413.html Cam Jordan: https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.can...ear-drew-brees You can find articles on the work most of these guys do with one Google search. Asking what these guys do in the off-season is willful ignorance. They shouldn’t even be the ones having to take on these challenges. Government officials should be making sure all Americans have equal opportunity and that there aren’t racial biases in any forms of society. Most people ignore the reason for the protests and racism in general, so just treat the protests the same way and ignore it. It’s annoying at this point. Why even continue to post about it in the forum and give it attention if you don’t care or are going to come up with ways to sidestep the conversation? If Cam Jordan would have taken to Twitter in 2015 to pick a fight with Obama that wouldn’t be a problem at all. |

False. We live in a world completely driven by tv and social media. They could get noticed any number of ways. They are getting noticed now, you're right about that, but the response has been overwhelmingly negative. They're actually hurting their already misguided cause. At this point I have completely written off anything these guys do to bring "awareness" to their "cause." Its a hollow sham of a cause to begin with, filled with half truths that are further distorted to fit an agenda. When it comes down to it, the biggest thing holding anyone down is themselves and how they choose to live their lives. And the biggest outside factor holding black folks down today is the democratic party and their own so called black leadership. Who, for decades now have been filling the minds of black people with the idea that you can't get by based on your merit. You need a hand out, you need special treatment because you're not equal. F*** that dude, we're not living in civil war era America, nor in a segregated America. That s**t is in the past, just leave it there and let it die. But the democratic party and the black leadership refuses to simply let the wounds heal and the scars fade. They've been picking the scab off for years and applying new salt to the wound. They've kept black people under their thumbs as a political tool for all these years. They don't care about you, they don't have your best interest at heart, they ARE your modern oppressors. You had a half black Democrat president for 8 years, wtf did he do for black people? F***in nothing. I'm not trying to say the Republican party is perfect or anything. Indeed, the older I get the more I realize that our entire political system is corrupt and rotting from the inside out. But it's not the Republican party, or the cops, or white people in general who are trying to keep black folks down anymore. That ended decades ago, as it should have. Your precious left and your so called leaders have taken up the cause, and you're blind to it. I hope and I pray that one day black peoples eyes will be opened to who their oppressors actually are. Until then I will continue to ignore these protests as the misdirected and misguided garbage they are.

Doesn't even matter big picture. Ratings dropped almost 10% last year. They will continue to drop. Some of it is because of this but younger generation does not care for football. Looking at fantasy sites and people are begging people to join their leagues. Fantasy brought back some of the youth fans but even that is receding.
