Re: B.Cooks Questioned Drew's Arm Strength 4 Years Ago
They could find a way to pay him but the big question is "Is it in the long term interest to add void years and pay that money over a number of years". This year has really proven that pushing money into the future expecting the cap to jump on new deals comes with massive risks if it doesn't.

Re: B.Cooks Questioned Drew's Arm Strength 4 Years Ago
The one year thing scares me. If we are going to actually give him a legitimate chance to start, if he balls out in 2021 he's going to want 30-40 just next year and could leave if he doesn't get it from us. I could stomach 12-15 mil in a 3 year contract.
I didn't like bringing him in, and I didn't want to see him as our starter but you make a good point, he's probably the best bang for the buck we're going to get for what we'll be able to pay. I say give him the 3yr and let it be an open competition with him and Taysom. |

Re: B.Cooks Questioned Drew's Arm Strength 4 Years Ago
Look into Cooks numbers:
3 years with Drew Brees 20 TD longest in NO 50, 71, 98 Declining arm 1 year with Brady 7 TD longest in NE 64 good arm 2 years with Goff 7 TD longest in LA 57 strong arm 1 year with Watson 6 TD longest in HO 57 cannon arm 4 year TD total: 20 TD He's done no better with non declining arms. In fact took him one more year to equal his stay in NO. |

No way would I trade picks for Stafford or Watson. I’d keep them, replenish talent, and bet on Winston. Only QB I would trade for would be Rodgers.
