He just doesn't recognise passing concepts and defenses quick enough to run a 3 or 4 receiver offense. As Deuce said on multiple gamedays about Taysom - PULL THE DAMN TRIGGER!!!
That still makes me laugh my ass off. Kamara was so visibly annoyed when Taysom was starting.

I was OK with him as a passer in general, but he needs to learn that sometimes you JUST TAKE THE SACK, live to fight another day and turnovers end the day. And yeah, he'd need to get more in sync with AK if he became starter. I'd like to see a honest "best man wins" between the two but I expect (if signed) JW will probably get the start with Hill as a weapon.

It seems the careers of headcase QBs only get worse with time -- their skills naturally diminish with time and the psych issues remain.

Remember that we are trying to fix stupid here. They say it can't be done but I'm happy to give Payton a chance fix him.

From every indication Winston is actually quite intelligent. Far from stupid. We have all made questionable decisions when we were younger.

Re: Sean Payton wants New Orleans Saints to re-sign QB Jameis Winston 'sooner than later'

The Winston of his first few years in the league will be fine. Outside of his first season he didn't have a RB to really on for a start. Look how many passes he was attempting per season. Now that's not to say many picks where not his fault. He played under 3 head coaches in 4 years and had Dirk Koetter and Todd Monken as OC. Outside of Koetter hanging onto the play of Ryan and Jones they have sucked.

Not going to say he is the long term guy but he isn't the disaster people think. Well unless that one season under Adrian's when they pretty much told him he was gone after the season is who he is. And playing behind some god awful offensive lines. Don't ask him to be a 600 attempts a season guy. I think you have a 25-30 TD, 3500-4000 yard QB.

Alot depends on the money. I'd imagine it will be a 3/4 year deal with one year being voidable and in the 15-18ml range. The interesting thing will be Taysum Hill a FA after this year, does he accept he is a gadget player and should be paid as a WR2/TE or does he go looking for a QB deal. I'd love to see him move to a non QB threat. Let him run and catch and have him as QB3 keeping roster spots open.

"Two receivers to the left, Garcon to the right. Manning in the shotgun, puts Collie in motion. Looks in his direction...it's picked off! It's picked off! It's Tracy Porter again! He's runnin' free! He's gonna go all the way!

Winston's floor: Aaron Brooks. Ceiling: Kurt Warner
Taysom Hill's floor: Tim Tebow. Ceiling: Steve Young

Do you take the major roll of the dice with Hill, knowing if goes wrong he will wash out quickly like Tebow? The Winston choice is 'safer', because at worst case like Aaron Brooks we'd have a productive offense, just one that is frustrating and mistake-prone.

Yeah thats a good point
Really depends on how much you like Winston and how much he wants imho
If he is asking for 18-20ml a year and a multi year deal its a big risk. Taysum you can take the risk he is the guy and give him this year to secure the spot and if it goes wrong you need to get someone in for next season and you have the cap to do it.

If a deal can't be done for Winston i would be offering the Jags a 3rd or possibly a 2nd for Minshew, he still has two years on a rookie deal and has shown plenty for me to at least be a short term bridge QB

This is a report from myself and what I hear on sports radio shows and it’s has some legitimacy , Tampa bay was hit by the goodel syndrome in 2019 with there Gruel and unusual punishment schedule, like from Seattle to London 5 road games with that I ain’t diggin it up so y’all google it. They had a team that was no joke it was a wild arse Arians that had Winston going for broke with like someone said above because of a lack of a running game. Look Winston was in every game till the end . I’m curious if Payton can hone this cat.
