Re: Sean Payton wants New Orleans Saints to re-sign QB Jameis Winston 'sooner than later'
The more I read the more that I'm coming around to the idea that Winston is likely going to be our starter next year. Hill is not as good of a QB as he is as a gadget player. We still need a developmental QB. Preferably we use a draft pick in the third where there may still be talent on the board if Payton likes them.

Winston with Payton at the helm could be the answer for the next 10 years... I’m sold on Winston being the guy and I think it makes us a much better team.
Lock him up on a 5 year decent money deal. |

Taysom is Caucasian Cam without the QB track record.
I like the dual threat of Taysom but give me the pure QB |

JW needed Sean Payton. |

Re: Sean Payton wants New Orleans Saints to re-sign QB Jameis Winston 'sooner than later'
Winston had an interview the other week and the reporter asked him what he'd tell the 2015-2020 version of himself.
Winston said something along the lines of "to settle down and take what they give, to stay alive for the next play rather than trying to do something spectacular and costly." If he can back up that mentality, then I've no issues with him being the starter. |

Re: Sean Payton wants New Orleans Saints to re-sign QB Jameis Winston 'sooner than later'
Re-signing Winston would be one the biggest mistakes in franchise history. It doesn't make sense financially or in regards to Winston's ability. Hill played incredibly well. Especially given the situation. He's done everything and beyond what has been asked of him. He's won games for the Saints at QB. He's a leader. He's tough as nails. He's making $16 million in a limited cap season. He's earned the right to be the QB of the Saints in 2021. And, if Mac Jones falls anywhere in range of making a logical trade up possible, QB problem completely solved.

You could argue Drew Brees needed SP too.
